Short version: Chris seems like a busy attorney and unless you have something simple, he probably won't devote much time to your case.
My first obvious disappointment was to discover the attorney Chris Gillette was a different individual than the famous alligator wrestler Chris Gillette. However, after receiving the bills for Chris' time at $300 /hr, I understand why he studied law rather than tangle in the rowdy ring with a writhing reptile.
I found the divorce process extremely confusing and Chris really didn't help make it any clearer. I would imagine most people would find the process confusing

Chris Gillette is a true talent in family law. His ability to sympathise with the client (me) and the unique challenges children of divorce face is unmatched. Chris has always been obviously professionally and personally invested in his clients. Unfortunately my case had to go to trial, and while Chris is a gifted writer, that accolade can't even begin to give his ability justice in the courtroom. A trial lawyer with sensibility and heart is a tall order, though, Chris re-defines expectations and continues to exceed them out of the courtroom. Chris Gillette, while charming and personable, is prone to some of the sleazy and pathetic antics that many other lawyers I've met engage in. Here was my experience one morning in the Spring of 2008: he invited me to meet him at the courthouse for our hearing, but he got the time wrong and we had to wait more than an hour until the courtroom session began. When I contacted him to discuss a discount on the bill because of the time that he had wasted due to HIS mistake he had his staff simply stiff arm me. If you want a lawyer who lies and manipulates in court, and draws out a case for several years on his lies, costing you thousands and thousands of dollars, this is your guy...I have zero trust or respect for this unethical "attorney"...his lies are finding him out...

He engages in defamation of character online and in court documents, stating lies about others to further his cause...

Chris is an extremely knowledgeable and thorough family law attorney. Chris and his entire staff have worked hard and diligently for our family, and not only do an amazing job, but care about their clients. I have worked closely with Chris and his staff though a very long and difficult divorce. Chris is a lazy attorney! The worst I have ever hired. I don't know who the other people are that wrote reviews, but I can tell you he is not going to put in the effort if your case is going to be a hard fought fight. After we fired him we where told that we still had money coming back to us but when we called to find out where that money was he would not take are calls. He is not worth your hard earned money!!! I can tell you we got more do with the courts on are own, in one month, then he did in 6 months and $14,000.00

This guy is the best! If you want someone that know family law this is the guy. If you want someone to represent you and only you this is the guy. As far as I am concerned you get what you pay for, when is divorce ever cheap? Chris did everything for the benefit of me and my kids.
