I only write positive reviews when they are truly merited, and I must say, East Bay Tech checked all the boxes and deserves the highest rating possible. I was in a crunch and couldn't find anyone -- I mean any computer tech company -- to help me on the day I needed service, except for East Bay Tech Services. Matt was able to open a very large file from an ancient external drive that was not working for me. Trust me, there were complications. I was looking around for a place to recover data from an external mechanical hard drive that stopped working. After reading reviews for several places, I called East Bay Tech Services and was fortunate that Matt answered. He was extremely helpful and prioritized making sure I got my issue solved rather than just making money. After listening to my description of the problem, he told me my best bet would be to go to the same place he goes for similar issues. My computer unexpectedly died after a power surge, and I just wanted to verify that there was no way to fix it before recycling it. I called expecting to get a quote for technical support, and instead I got 25 minutes of free advice that helped me determine that the computer does indeed need to be retired. The tech person I spoke with was friendly, informative, and patient. He even helped me figure out how to remove my hard drive before taking it to the computer recycling place in Berkeley. I would recommend them for anything computer related!

Matt came out a couple of weeks ago. We were having issues with a network we'd just set up dropping the ip address. He figured out our issues very quickly, helped me clean up some other issues, gave me some excellent recommendations for some commercial routers and explained how I would set them up. He worked very quickly and was very patient yet took the time to explain to me what he was doing as he was doing it. It's great to finally have someone I can call for these types of issues.

East Bay Tech Service has saved me on more than a few occasions. Matt and his team are incredibly responsive, knowledgable and efficient in solving complex problems with our websites. We had a serious problem with hackers and malware that we could never have solved on our own and EBTS set us up to make sure it didn't happen again.

Just spoke to Matt. I had some questions about getting my laptop fixed and although the repair services I needed fell in to the very few repairs they do not offer, Matt helped me and talked me through various options and solutions. Out of all the laptop repair and tech service companies I called, he took the time and patience to walk through different approaches to solve my problem. Just from talking to him I feel he is running a genuine company and definitely recommend them for your tech services.

I am in a satellite office, far away from our east coast tech support team. Having Matt as part of my local team has been such a relief. Just this week, he helped me navigate an incredibly ill-timed hardware issue with my (PC) laptop. He also assisted me with an office move where he set up all of my technology - including a personal secure network - in just a few hours. This is a late review, but we felt that it was still necessary.
We hired Matt from East Bay Tech to come in an repair some technical and network problems we were having and to do some basic organization. Not only did this not happen, we were also charged three times the amount that we were originally quoted. Matt spent a huge amount of time doing something that should have taken just a few short hours, did not fix our problems, made a huge mess of our cords (when in fact we had brought him in to fix and organize them) and left us with two problems we didn't have to begin with.

After weeks of struggling with the network in our business, I decided it was time to call for help. I found reviews for East Bay Tech Service on Yelp, and and immediately called and left a message. I had a call back from Jason within a few minutes, and set the appointment for just two days later. Jason was really helpful.
