Windmill Heights Garden Center
Founded in 1965 by Mason Hutcheson, the greenhouses were originally named "Ebenezer Heights Greenhouses". Mason started with just one greenhouse but quickly built more. Today, the business is run by his grandson, Paul, and a team of dedicated employees. Plants bring beauty and happiness to the world, and we connect people to plants through education, inspiration, and innovative retail.

Mason Hutcheson put up his first greenhouse in 1965 in Inlet, just north of the town of Culpeper. A year later, he moved to the present location, bringing the greenhouse with him. As the years went by, he added more greenhouses. After retirement, Mason devoted all his attention to the business, and gained a loyal following of local gardeners seeking quality plants.
Services
We are Culpeper's oldest garden center, and many of our customers tell us that we are their favorite also! We still grow using Grandpa's Secret Recipe, and we regularly hear from customers that our plants are the healthiest and most vigorous on the market. Plant a flower from Windmill Heights and it "Just grows!"
We are committed to growing premium-quality plants that thrive and flourish in your yard, with no special care. We are committed to asking questions about your yard so that we can recommend plants and solutions that will exceed your expectations. Your ultimate success is our primary focus, and we will gladly refund or replace any plant that prematurely dies, while working with you to ensure that you are successful going forward.
We have plants for low, medium, or bright light, as well as plants that thrive on neglect. We also source and grow rare houseplants (availability can fluctuate throughout the year).

During the months of March through June, we grow a wide variety of spring and summer flowers, including customer favorites such as: Angelonia, Bacopa, Begonias, Calibrachoa, Celosia, Coleus, Cosmos, Diamond Frost, Dusty Miller, Geraniums, Heliotrope, Impatiens, Lobelia, Marigolds, Pansy, Petunia, Portulaca, Salvia, Scaevola, Snapdragons, SunPatiens, Sweet Potato Vine, Verbena, Vinca, Violas, and Zinnias.
