While the gentleman who helped plan the arrangements was nice, that is where the positive experience ended. The woman who drove the casket had zero bed side manner. She was in a hurry and asked "Can we get on with this" 30 min early. We asked her for an open casket. She turned the casket around backwards and left it closed. They sang the wrong song. NOT the one we asked for. They will not add the date to my Mothers tombstone even though it was asked for. They are arguing with me. Its ridiculous. The spray on the casket was to say Mom & Grandma, it read Grandmother. It may not seem like much but

My family and I are researching options for arrangements. We were very disturbed to hear this business is not requiring masks. One can imagine that many of those attending funerals are of age and or have underlying conditions. Not requiring a mask be worn to help mitigate the continued spread of the virus within our community is just outright wrong. “Drumming up business” as one review mentioned, maybe. One could only hope not. “God given right” as another review mentions, God does not give someone the right to pass a potentially deadly virus to your neighbor.

If I could give this place no stars that's what I would do. Was not impressed when I walked in the door. Stopped at the restroom where there was a dead bug in the floor, no hot water to wash your hands with, and fixtures badly in need of updating/replacing. Get upstairs and several people are running around without masks on, including some of the staff. I wasn't aware of it but one of the workers got the car key from my husband. I was in the car when he came to move it - no mask, no gloves, no PPE of any kind. I took the key from him and told him that I didn't want anyone in my car without a mask

I would like to Thank Bryan Crain and the staff of Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau for the beautiful memorial service you gave my mother today. My mother, Pasty Jean Ruffin thought the world of you, Bryan Crain. Your funeral homes are so beautiful and your staff is so welcoming to all attending the funeral service. Our families have used your funeral services for years and we will continue to do so. You’ve always gone above and beyond to accommodate the wishes of the family. Especially accommodating to the wishes of my mother who passed.
I saw the bad review that was given today by my brothers

This funeral home is amazing and I have nothing negative to say about them. They are compassionate and very understanding.
They made sure to update the obituary for me when I finally had everything say what I wanted it to. They made sure to get my go ahead on the plaque for the urn.
They also have a thing where they give you an ornament for your Christmas tree and even printed out the condolances page when I went to pick up the urn.
These little extra touches are amazing and help make this process so much easier and makes me feel like they really care.

I would recommend this funeral home to anyone that wants great service and people with great hearts. They have served my family for years and we have never had any issues. Just seen a post that was not very nice, which I don't understand because I am actually at the same funeral as we speak, evidently they had nothing better to do than to look for things to complain about. Place is very clean and the people are very accommodating.

Great hospitality. Masks at the door to wear if you want. Hand sanitizer available. Beautiful, clean building. I have lung issues, so double-masked to feel safe around those who did not. As a privately owned business, I appreciate the owner of Crain Funeral Home giving people their god-given right to mask or not to mask.

UNPROFESSIONAL. RUDE. IRRESPONSIBLE.

The staff mishandled money given to family and refuse to apologize or take any responsibility. We discovered this when our bank check was cashed by someone other than who the check was written to. The family member didn't even know we had given her a check in the safety box on at the memorial station, because the funeral home never game them to her, but just sent them on to a charity without checking! We were shocked to know that we left the check in their locked box at the wake and trusted it would be given to the family as directed on the envelope, yet

Crain Funeral Home handled the cremation and burial for both my parents and the placement of a military headstone for my brother-in-law. Their staff was kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and did not apply any pressure to buy services or other things I did not really need. Everything went as smoothly and seamlessly as if I had planned for this occasion for months when at the end I selected this location because it was closest to the bodies. Crain also offers a special memorial at the end of each year which provided a lovely memento of the service.....I couldn't have been more pleased with the
