LCYC is a member-run yacht club located in a sheltered cove on the southwest shore of Shelburne Bay in Shelburne, Vermont, USA. We offer moorings, activities, and community for our members, most of whom own a sailboat or powerboat. The object of the Club is to promote and encourage boating and sailing on Lake Champlain, while emphasizing racing, cruising, and education, without financial gain.
Please let us know if you are interested in membership! Lake Champlain offers some of the best freshwater cruising in North America. The beautiful scenery and charming lakeside destinations make it a great place to explore. LCYC organizes several rendezvous events. Spontaneous cruising events also materialize throughout the season.

To apply, please fill out the membership application and submit the $100 application fee. Once we receive this, we will schedule a phone call to talk about the club. If you know three current club members, please ask them to contact the Membership Chair for a referral. If you do not know any current members, we can arrange a "meet and greet."
The Associate membership is designed to support and encourage boating within a younger age range by providing a reduced initiation fee and annual fees. To qualify for Associate membership, the eldest family member must be between the ages of 18 and 40. An Associate member has all responsibilities, rights, and privileges of the club, including voting rights, club access, and mooring rights.
We currently have a mooring waitlist; it can take 1-3 seasons before a mooring becomes available. Often we can provide temporary moorings (if an existing member is away for the summer, they will make their mooring available for another member to use for the season). All of this is hard to estimate as it depends on when current members relinquish their moorings or if members offer their mooring for a temporary mooring for the summer.
Due to the global pandemic the 2020 LCYC Junior Sailing program was not our typical program. The small group lessons were a success and allowed us to keep kids interested in sailing during the pandemic. We are planning on a more normal Junior Sailing program for 2021; however, we are limiting class sizes to 10 sailors to help us maintain physical distancing and healthy practices.
