Consultations for Other Physicians and Surgeons (Bariatric surgery, spinal cord stimulator, capacity assessments). Even with those limitations, disability is unlikely to be provided and we recommend you see an independent disability psychiatrist for those needs.

Laura Gale is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, who joined New South Psychiatry as our Clinical Therapist in May of 2019. Laura has experience working with people of all ages as both a Social Worker and Therapist. She provides a combination of different therapeutic techniques in addition to "talk therapy" and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Get GeneSight testing! At New South Psychiatry we understand it takes a multi-modal approach to achieve optimal mental health and wellness. As a result we are pleased to offer GeneSight Pscyhotropic testing at our facility. By using this tool clinicians can select medications suited to your specific genetic make-up, allowing for fewer side effects, better tolerability, and optimal efficacy.
Addiction can be a crippling disorder for the patient. At New South Psychiatry we are able to effectively diagnose and treat addiction. We use a multimodal approach with both medicines and therapy designed to help the patient get their life back on track. We are able to diagnose and treat any underlying psychiatric illness that may also complicate the addiction picture.

I was a patient of both Dr Haygood and the therapist Laura Gale. These 3 stars go specifically to Laura. She is the best therapist I’ve ever had and helped me out of some truly dark times. A true angel!
Where we lose stars here is Dr Haygood. I found that he talks at you and not with you. It’s pretty much his way or the highway. He’s also very loud and you can hear him throughout the whole building, so not much privacy. The last straw for me was when I waited an hour past my appointment time because he wasn’t even in the building. I eventually left to go to work without having my appointment

I have had such a bad experience here. I’ve been going for several months and have decided to seek treatment elsewhere. The receptionist is rude and cold 85% of the time. You never know what you will get with her. Sometimes it’s fine but especially on the phone she is confrontational and rude. Many of the problems I list below could have been avoided if she had just said she would relay a message instead of fighting on the phone.
Dr. Hart is forgetful at best, negligent at worst. I have to remind him what I’m taking, how much I’m taking, and what we’ve tried in the past at every appointment

New South Psychiatry has saved my life. The Providers, even the staff have gotten me through some of the hardest times of my life. I recommend this group to anyone and everyone I know. They really do care and go above and beyond for their patients. Kind, Professional, Efficient.

I have been going here for awhile. I can honestly say that Dr. Haygood honestly cares about his patients. He is willing to discuss different medication options and tries to get you on to living your best life. He is busy but is always willing to take the time fo anwser questions. He is very knowledgeable in his field and will find the medication regimen that fits your diagnosis. As long as your willing to put in yhe effort so is he.

Before I found New South Psychiatry & Dr. Haygood & his staff, my mental health issues were extremely mismanaged. Dr. Haygood is compassionate & thorough. He says it like it is & is a very straight shooter. His genuine concern for his patients & their needs goes above & beyond in my opinion. Thanks to him & his staff I finally feel like I’m getting a handle on my mental health. Something I’ve been trying to do since I was 13 years old, I am currently 33. I highly recommend New South Psychiatry, Dr. Haygood & his staff.
