Greater Tyler Auto Auction is a member of the National Auto Auction Association, Auction Insurance Agency, Better Business Bureau, Texas Independent Dealer's Association, and the Tyler & Lindale Chambers of Commerce. You can trust that your transactions will be handled with the utmost security and proficiency.

We excel in re-marketing vehicles for banks, title loan companies, repossessions and more. Our weekly sales feature new car trades, as well as 'Front-Line' vehicles. We are also a GSA Contractor, remarketing used Federal government vehicles, available to both dealers and the public. Our regular auctions are Dealer Only auctions, but we do hold some public auctions, for GSA and law enforcement agencies.
Services
All selling announcements shall be made by auctioneer only, and all representations by the seller must be announced through the auctioneer. It is the seller's obligation to fairly represent the vehicle and to correct any errors made by the auctioneer as to "announced conditions". It is the purchaser's obligation to watch lights and listen to "announced conditions".
GTAA is primarily a dealer only auction, but we also host some public auctions. Dealer only auctions are held every Tuesday evening at 5PM. The type of public auction we hold most often is GSA, which is for used Federal government vehicles, and will be about once a month, normally on a Thursday at 10AM.
For inlane purchases the arbitration period ends 2 hours after purchase or 1 hour after last car crosses the block, which ever is sooner. For online purchases the arbitration period is extended to Wednesday following the sale, til 10 AM Central. Effective 5/6/2020: We are temporarily extending the arbitration period to Wednesday morning at 10AM for online purchases only.
Royce has co-owned the Greater Tyler Auto Auction since it opened in 2001. In addition, he also owns a ranch and a car lot in Lufkin. Royce spends his free time with his family and grandchildren. He can often be found out on the lanes during the auction, helping on the block, and assisting with the sale.
You must be a Registered Car Dealer to purchase from most of our auctions, however GSA and law enforcement auctions are public auctions. If you do not have a Car Dealer License, do not fill out the Dealer registration. Under the button "GSA Auctions" on the home page is the GSA registration, which can be down loaded or gotten at the desk, and is free.

I have been coming here for the past couple of months now as a newer dealer and enjoy coming to the auction as it is on the smaller side and the pricing seems good. Except every time I come to the auction either on the day of the auction or during the week to pick up a vehicle, pay for something, or pick up a title. I consistently get poor and rude service by the office lady the sits at the left desk behind the counter. It seems like any time I come in, it is an inconvenience for her to help me and she always has a very snarky attitude. I try to have the lady that handles the titles help me as

Albeit a smaller auction, they have a great selection of inventory, and I've snagged some good deals over the years. Most importantly, the employees at this auction go above and beyond what the big, franchised auctions do. Top notch staff!

High starting bids for average vehicles or older modeled vehicles that's not worth the hassle

Just a visitor with a dealer rep. Friendly accommodating, but on the smaller side.

This auction has been on a backslide for many years. It has become a junk auction for dealers to get rid of their problem inventory. I have personally witnessed bidders being "Rolled", lights being changed from green to red during bidding, instances of favoritism being given to friends of the auction by not arbitrating vehicles that at any "honest auction" would have. Instances of vandalism and theft of parts on vehicles left on the property in the "secured" area.
If you don't mind being taken advantage of by a bunch of crooks, then this is the auction for you
