A Houston periodontist, like Dr. Porras, is a specialist in the prevention and treatment of periodontal disease (or periodontitis), in the placement of dental implants, and are experts in the treatment of oral inflammation.
We also offer a section of Frequently Asked Questions to help our patients understand their procedures better. Of course, if you still have questions or need more information, you are always welcome to call our office to find out more. We will take your temperature before you are brought back, temperatures of 99.5 or greater will be rescheduled at least 14 days out.
As a Preferred Houston Periodontist, We Understand that a Full mouth rehabilitation that includes extractions of all remaining teeth and a minimum of 4 dental implants per arch to support a fixed bridge. The term All-on-4 refers to "all" teeth being supported "on four" dental implants, a surgical and technique prosthodontics procedure for total rehabilitation of the edentulous.
Crown lengthening is usually performed to improve the health of the gum tissue, prepare the mouth for a procedure, or correct a gummy smile. This is sometimes called a "Gum Lift". A gummy smile is used to describe an instance where teeth are covered with excess gum tissue resulting in short teeth and a less esthetically-pleasing smile.
A dental implant is actually a replacement for the root or roots of a tooth. Like tooth roots, dental implants are secured in the jawbone and are not visible once surgically placed. If you need routine Periodontal doctor this is not the place for you. They will keep rescheduling you and pushing you to the sided for new patients. The staff doesn't care about your time. They will only do what best for them. They staff is unreliable and unorganized. Do not recommend this place for a routine doctor.

Since visiting here in October, I have received less than quality treatment for the surgery for periodontal disease. They even forgot to put bandages in my mouth after my 1st surgery and I bled profusely when I arrived home. BTW...do NOT SIGN all their documents especially the one for teeth extraction because they will pull teeth they deem that you don't need even if its not an issue. I have been experiencing extreme molar pain since November 2020. I called March 2021 due to an overwhelming pain on upper molar next to an "extraction" and their response was basically "what would you like for us

Dr Porras and his team have been keeping my gums healthy and strong for almost 5 years. After initially visiting Dr Porras with several periodontal issues he and his team stabilIzed my gums, which have been healthy and strong since. He and his team are very caring and thorough. His treatments and cleaning are spot on. I highly recommend Dr Porras for your periodontal needs and Clara for cleanings.

The experience with Dr. Porras and his team was a great one! No one wants to have dental work done, but if you need to get specialty services this is the place to go! After my procedure which was on a Friday, they even called to check on me the day after, Thank you! I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing dental care needs!

Great experience! Super friendly staff, office manager Julie was very helpful and welcoming. Clara did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth. Dr. Porras was extremely knowledgeable, I feel very confident in their treatment. Overall, didn’t feel like I was at a dentist office, with the first class service and comfortable environment. I highly recommend.
