Chris Powell's first job was hauling apple crates from the field to the barn after school - a job he enjoyed. That led to bigger, better jobs, with more responsibility. After working through high school and being a partner for six years, Chris felt it was time to invest in his own plot of land. In 1990, Good Harvest Farms was founded.
Chris began wholesaling vegetables and flowers through auctions and stores. While successful, he felt the real goal should be selling his crops directly to the consumer. His small roadside stand soon grew much bigger. With the help of his wife Cindy, Good Harvest Farms continued to grow and they eventually joined with the Lancaster County Farmer's Market.

For 31 years our customers have supported our Strasburg Garden Center, Good Harvest Supply. You watched our business and family grow and have become friends with many of the employees that worked here over the years. But, as they say, all good things must come to an end.
After a lot of deliberating and having to make some very hard choices, I have decided to concentrate our business on wholesale, large group and fund-raising sales, as well as our market stand at Lancaster County Farmers Market in Wayne, PA.As our children leave the nest and have their own goals for careers, I thought it was best to mainstream our business.

Nowhere is our commitment to providing the highest quality, fresh fruit and vegetables more apparent or important than at our newly renovated Farm Stand in the Lancaster County Farmer's Market. We offer a wide range of farm-fresh produce grown exclusively at our Strasburg, PA farm and greenhouses, as well as a variety of other fresh fruits and vegetables.
Our family-owned farm combines over 50,000 square-feet of growing space in our greenhouses, including 4,000 square-feet of hydroponics. We feature two large mum fields and an additional 28 farmable acres where we grow some of Lancaster County's finest crops like corn, peas, strawberries, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, cantaloupes, honey dew, lima beans, French beans, wax beans, cabbage and a wide variety of regular and heirloom tomatoes.
