If you go ALL the way back, members of the Hinds family were the first settlers in Northeast Pennsylvania. They arrived in the area right after the Revolutionary War, in 1789.
Hinds Energy is a third and fourth-generation family business. Eldred J. Hinds established Hinds Oil Co. Inc. in September of 1944. The business started out in Eldred's home on Locust Street in Montrose, then moved to Cedar Street, and finally to its current location on Post Street in November of 1986.

C.O.D. delivery: Also called "will call" delivery, with this plan, you call our office whenever you need a fuel refill and we will respond promptly with our radio dispatched fuel trucks. C.O.D. is a good option for people who travel often or for second homes in which fuel consumption is not consistent.

Normally I would recommend Hinds Energy. My family has been a customer of them for years. My mom is on auto delivery and has been running into some issues. She got really low before the last delivery and had to call. This morning when she woke up, the house was cold. Yep, she ran out of fuel. She called the emergency number and was told to wait… till they opened at 8am and call then. It was 4 degrees outside this morning. A service technician finally came to the house with 10 gallons of fuel. Yes, this will get it started but how long can you run with 10gallons?? Shouldn’t a customer
