Madison Ballet
We are pioneering opportunities for the entire community to experience dance on and offstage. Fueled by a passion for our craft and community, we create tailored programming that engages with topics like international culture, social-emotional learning, problem-solving, and more. We put the same enthusiasm behind our city as we do our art, bringing Madison inventive performances and special events each season.

High-quality artistic expression and diverse experience is what guides this talented ensemble. A mission to move the community and create connections is what fuels us.
Services
We've dedicated ourselves to building a better community through our art and produced a culture of connection, collaboration and change that touches the lives of over 20,000 people each year. Our ensemble provides an invaluable, enriching arts experience, and through access, engagement and exposure to ballet we are pursuing growth for our community.
One of the most highly respected and affordable dance schools in the Midwest, the School of Madison Ballet classes range from early childhood to adult and recreational to pre-professional. Gaining the confidence, discipline, and fundamental life skills inherent in the study of classical ballet, SMB provides unprecedented opportunity to dancers in all stages of life and career.
In an effort to promote appreciation and access to ballet, as well as develop a stronger, more empowered Madison, we develop fluid, approachable, and relevant arts programming for our community and its organizations. We are always looking to connect with new partners! Introduce your group to dance with an outreach event or series tailored to your unique needs and population.
Strengthened by an unparalleled love for this artform and an impressive list of credentials, our staff members are the eyes, ears, and heart of our organization. From uplifting Madison Ballet behind the scenes to translating inspiration into instruction, these experts shape our potential and motivate us to produce stunning performances, influential outreach, and a lasting legacy.
The Board of Directors for the Madison Ballet serves as the ultimate champion of our organization and the wider dance community. Through their shared governance, we are better able to reach our goals, share our passions, and create the widest-reaching impact on our city for years to come.

Their guidance on governance, finance, development, marketing and HR committees leads us in meeting the community where it is at, as well as advancing our mission to promote appreciation and access to dance.

Put my 3 year old in wrong class with 5 year olds which could hurt her joints and ligaments then switched to another one with only two other toddlers. Can’t seem to fill their classes. Very awkward. Teacher seemed not to be able to connect with the toddlers. Switch teachers weekly which is confusing for kids.

I've really enjoyed being a student here at the School of Madison Ballet! The teachers are very supportive, and help the students grow technically through each level. There are many fun opportunities, including outreach performances, master classes, and the Nutcracker! From watching the company perform, to learning new choreography and classical variations, it's been a well rounded and great experience!

The beauty of the School of Madison Ballet goes way beyond dance. Everyone involved in this program from the Artist Director to the volunteer parent, cares passionately about each students/performers growth as an individual dancer and as member of the organization. Those who teach, including company members, go out of their way to make sure that each student receives feedback on what they need to work on and celebrations on how they've improved. This organization works deeply to ensure that each dancer reaches their potential. During Summer intensive students are exposed to encore classes in Ballet

My experience with The School of Madison Ballet as a parent has been a positive and great one. The dance instructors are experienced dancers, who I feel are great teachers to my daughter and the other students.
The School of Madison Ballet has given my daughter more self-confidence and encourages her love of ballet and expression through dance.
In fact, both of my children (daughter and son) ask if they can participate in The School of Madison Ballet's Nutcracker every year.
I cannot say enough great things about The School of Madison Ballet.

My daughter and I had the pleasure of dancing in Madison Ballet's nutcracker for several years. It is one of our most cherished memories as mother and daughter. We both live in Colorado Springs now and went to their Colorado Spring's Youth Ballet's Nutcracker yesterday. Although the performance was good, there was absolutely no comparison to Madison Ballet's and Earle Smith's version. We both couldn't stop talking about our experience with Earle. Top notch preparation, costumes, sets, volunteers, orchestra, and most importantly, rehearsed dancers! Thank you so much for being such a part of our

This is a review of the Madison Ballet performances, not the classes.

So far, I have been to two excellent productions of Dracula: A Rock Ballet and one repertory performance. Dracula was an original production (including music) that had great live music, production values, and music. For the first production, the entire house was full and shortly thereafter they announced they would do it again next year; and we saw it a year later and brought friends! We were impressed that a small company could put on such a big performance.

The Repertory is an opportunity to see ballet in a much more intimate

Nice classes without too much talking. I could the beginner class being a bit overwhelming if you don't have any dance experience, but the instructors are friendly and willing to take time to explain things. They just move fast by default.

This is a review for their adult classes. Your guess is as good as mine for the children's classes.
