Welcome to Tanglewood Conservatories, heirs to a two-hundred-year-old tradition of extraordinary design and craftsmanship. Our work is inspired by the elegant, historic glasshouses of the world. Our craft teams come from the lineage of master shipbuilders who created the beautiful wooden boats of Maryland's Chesapeake Bay region.

That's what sets us apart from other conservatory makers - and your conservatory apart from all the rest.
We've worked with many architects who want to design their client's conservatory but recognize the challenges and artistry specific to our craft. They often produce a conservatory design, then look to Tanglewood to develop and refine their concept and to work out the construction details. One architect describes the approach this way: We had clients we'd worked with before who now wanted a large conservatory design added to their family room.
CONSERVATORIES FIRST APPEARED DURING THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY as simple structures designed to protect fruit trees and delicate botanical specimens from the harsh European winters. Over the next two hundred years, they grew to become the grand glass palaces that we recognize as symbols of the Victorian Age, anticipating the Art Nouveau movement and paving the way to modern architecture.
WE BELIEVE that a beautiful custom conservatory begins with you, your life, and your vision.
