Royal Blue Grocery
Royal Blue Grocery is a compact urban market that opened its doors in Downtown Austin in 2006. There are currently six locations in Downtown Austin and one location in San Antonio. Each Royal Blue is different from the next, tailored specifically for the neighborhood it serves, and the people who visit daily.

Royal Blue offers a little bit of everything, from Proud Mary coffee and freshly prepared grab-and-go offerings to conventional grocery and convenience items, with always tons of locally sourced products from unique brands. Called a bodega by some, a corner store by others, Royal Blue is a modern urban grocery store that has just what you need, where you need it, and when you need it.
Services
All Royal Blue stores have a basic inventory in common, with additional products varying by location and clientele. We pride ourselves on having a nice selection of conventional foods alongside specialty foods from across the country and the globe. You will find creamy Jeni's artisanal ice cream from Columbus, Ohio, addicting Have'a Chips from Laguna Beach, California, and cult favorite Happy Hippos from Germany.
We've got everything from bagels and breakfast tacos to antipasti and cheese platters. And in between we can set you up with our freshly made sandwiches or salads all boxed up with chips, cookie and a drink. Just email us at catering@royalbluegrocery.com and we'll create a menu that's perfect for you.

So I've never written a review for a grocery store before. This place is fantastic.

Even though it's relatively small, they manage to carry a decent selection of all the necessities. I stopped in on 2 consecutive days for sunscreen and something for breakfast. I loved the fresh chocolate croissant and the small breakfast burritos were outstanding. My cafe mocha put Starbucks to shame. The young man who prepared it, was explaining to me the process of learning to use the machine. Everyone of the employees was incredibly kind and friendly. I just can't say enough good things

My favorites sandwiches, cold teas, japanese BBQ sauce, Algo Dulce flan so delicious, sour cream potatoes chips, also this a location my son Jean Paul sells his organic candles handmade(Gojema). I have been with him in other locations and they all have great quality products. Thanks Royal Blue.

What a wonderful grocery store!!! It is only 3 minutes walk from our hotel. They have a good selection of wine, various none alcoholic beverages and alcoholic beverages in the refrigerated areas. The pre-made sandwiches looked yummy. I would have bought one if I didn’t worried about ruining my dinner appetite. They have a variety of snacks and fruit to fill up the mini fridge. Don’t forget to pickup water and a six pack while you are there.

Lovely quick shop store if you are living upstairs in Skyhouse. Fresh and nice supplies. I wish they had herbs as well (cilantro!)
Their wraps are to die for. I love them (Especially the Sweet Potato wrap). Also love their grilled cheese - it is superb. I would always have it along with their habanero sauce.
The staff is friendly and engaging.

Always a pleasure stopping in here. The employees are knowledgeable and customer service is on point! The selection of products is fantastic, and the food is top notch! They put a lot of thought and effort into the food they make in house, using fresh quality ingredients. I'm currently working my way through their hot menu and the sandwiches and salads in the grab and go. My favorite hot selection is the Cuban sandwich, all I can say is YUM! And I'm absolutely addicted to the ATX salad from the grab and go! No stop here would be complete without a slice of pie from Baked and Boozy!! OMG best pies

Unlawful behavior. I went to buy a bottle of olive oil. Price tag says $17.99, I get charged $20 something. Clerk says the receipt price is right. Didn't really want to make a fuss and left but that's illegal.

Walked in without a facemask and the owner asked me to leave. He grabbed the 2 items that I needed and brought them to me. He then didn’t let me pay.
This place sets the bar for a friendly shop around the corner. Wish I could give it 6 stars

I will never be able to live less than a block or two away from a Royal Blue Grocery. The most convenient all around local market I’ve ever been to and I’m super spoiled to have it around. Premade meals, sandwiches made to order, traditional groceries, beer, wine and full coffee bar. What else could you ask for when a full trip to a mega grocery isn’t necessary? Love RBG so much, they get my advertisement on the regular for free!

*Covid/Curbside Review*

I ordered curbside during Covid and it was effortless. Called, told them what I wanted, paid over the phone and when I arrived within 5-6 minutes, they met me at the door with my food.

The hot Italian sandwich was really good. The panini bread was still warm and crispy by the time I got up to my apartment. The fruit salad is a good mix - cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes and berries. It is a little pricey but that's pretty typical for a fresh/healthy option spot.

Can we PLEASE get the banana pudding back in exchange for this nice review? I’m convinced the only thing powerful enough to get us through the rest of 2020 is that delicious 8 oz carton of banana/nilla heaven.

A baby Whole Foods come to mind.

This is a smallish joint located across the hotel. Had some late night cravings for alcohol but too tired to go to a bar.

Yes they do that as well as healthy and local options. As well as little knick knacks and souvenirs.

Prices weren't outrageously gouging but they are definitely "downtown" prices.

Would I come back? Maybe.

Decent convenience store, not sure it would call it a grocery store but it also has a fair wine and alcohol section. Has a small selection of pizza by the slice as well as hot deli sandwiches and some coffees. Nice place to stop and grab a quick bite (indoor and outdoor seating), or lounge with friends when trying to pass time between errands. Had the Moon pie slice (named something like that -- all cheese) - crispy, pretty good, slightly pricy for the smaller size.

Try getting these kinds of items delivered and stocked on Rainey Street at big grocery chain prices. It is city living prices... I applaud them for making it a viable business. They have everything from fresh produce to hot made sandwiches on demand. They also have a very nice selection of wines and beer. I have had some really good experiences here... not the least of which have been the over-the-top service. I could not recommend this place more than 5 stars.

Cute place with a variety of grab-and-go items as well as specialty sandwiches. Staff went above and beyond when they refunded our sandwiches when the wait became long. The sandwiches were yummy, and the ingredients were fresh and flavorful!

Rudest customer service ever experienced in a grocery store. Asked the gentlemen cashier if he knew where The Westin hotel was as I was trying to purchase some chips and he said he didn't know. So then I asked his colleague the same question and she also didn't know. After this interaction the young gentlemen then states "I am refusing service to you" and walks away. No explanation why, just walked away. I was not drunk, disorderly, or loud. Very confused. The female cashier then walked over to me, assisted me and as I asked her if there was something wrong she says "ITS

Super nice staff - we were supposed to go on a boat on Lake Travis and bought a bunch of food and beer - our captain ended up canceling our trip and our hotel pool wouldn't let us bring outside food or drink. This place was awesome and let us return all of our snacks and alcohol! Very grateful - would highly recommend!!

I like this place a lot. They were friendly and helpful, and they also have some good food in their deli section. Try the Austin Fire Eagle iPA, that they carry. It is very good!
I had a great Italian Salami sandwich, and a terrific Slice of pizza, -along with other specialty items from the store. They stay pretty busy, mostly, but I found them helpful and friendly.

I was in Austin for a conference and went over in the mornings for coffee and breakfast tacos. Both great to start the day. The staff was really cool and friendly.

A little pricey but that's to be expected for the area. They have a fairly minimal selection of grocery items so it's not a grocery store you would shop at for your regular groceries. But if you are staying downtown in an Airbnb it's alright. You can get an instacart from Whole Foods for a better deal.

The place is cool to check out. Definitely check it out for some of the prepared food.

This was my go-to during my SXSW visit. At times, it appeared they were crushed with customers.

It reminded me of NYC so much. I went and purchased some items from the "grocery" portion of the store, large bottles of water, ordered a couple of paninis, hat were heated to perfection, and a latte.

This will be my anchor when I just need a quick bite or forget to pack something on my visit.

The selection and quality of products is quite good considering its location and size. The location is very convenient for many as well.
The prepared food although not cheap is delicious. The coffee is good as well, but cups aren't filled hence you're always getting one size of a coffee less than you paid for.

First of all, they serve STUMPTOWN! Whenever I'm at a conference, I'm always on the hunt for good coffee because that's what we survive on - caffeine and lots of food. Otherwise, I would never be able to make it through the 7:30am - 10:00pm days.

They also have a bunch of lunch sandwiches as well as breakfast burritos, which makes it a great spot to stop in for a quick bite.

Service was nice and always efficient. My coffee is always ready before I'm even done paying. Cream/milk options are in the fridge next to the coffee counter, for those of you who don't know!
