Ive stayed in many local motels where it looked shady but I must say, this is one of the best instayed in. Indeed it is very clean shower is good, the mini fridge and microwave looks pretty modern. All stainless steel. Ita definitly my go to stay whenever i come down to visit my kids.

Decided to stop here bc it was the closest motel to us when we decided to be done driving for the evening. What a fortuitous decision that turned out to be! The area is very quiet and so was the motel. Although the rooms look a bit vintage, they are comfortable & incredibly clean. Like, incredibly. The towels are amazingly soft & the shower has great pressure with plenty of hot water. There are also ceiling fans in the room, which I have never seen before. That was a great touch, for me. If you're looking for a comfy place to spend the night, look no further.

Old but charming! Two rooms, one bath for less than average hotel room. Kind, helpful staff. We spotted cars parked directly on the river, stopped to check it out and ended up staying.

This place was exactly what we needed. Quiet, clean. A waypoint for our escape from the bay. Close enough to day trip to the redwoods or nearby beaches. Dave, the owner, was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We rode our motorcycles and when we checked we were offered the use older bath towels and hose to clean our bikes, that was a very nice surprise. The rooms are clean and everything worked. FYI no A/C but the ceiling fan works great and there is a cool ocean breeze in the evening.

This trip, I wanted to stay closer to Humboldt Redwoods State Park, and chose this Humboldt Gables Motel. It's definitely an older lodging, but the precision-sheared front hedge and fresh paint got me to pull in. The room was clean, bed comfortable and the (3) pillows were comparable to the high-end pillows we have at home. Whether another business trip for wedding photography or redwood hiking, I will definitely stay here again ... PS .. the towels felt like being at a luxury hotel !!

My mom and her friend stayed here for about a week when they came to visit around Thanksgiving time. My mom said she was pleased with the accommodations. It was nothing fancy but it was clean, quiet, the room had a really nice TV, full size fridge, there was cute sitting area outside in a little garden area (complete with bbq and picnic tables), the owner was very nice. Last but not least, the price was right... It was perfect for what they needed for this trip. If my mom was happy with it then you know that I was happy too.
