Battenkill Valley Counseling Center
Battenkill Valley Health Center Inc. is a nonprofit federally qualified health center (FQHC) in Arlington, Vermont that provides affordable, quality primary and preventive care for all. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Bennington County is fortunate to have the fifth highest per-capita income in Vermont at roughly $28,000'.

Unfortunately, the Vermont Department of Health estimates 4 out of 10 people in our county are underinsured and 26% of all uninsured individuals throughout the state call southwest Vermont home'. BVHC's designation as an FQHC is unique as it is a one-stop comprehensive health center - even for those with difficulty paying for health services - thanks to enhanced Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates which help bridge the gap.
Services
Battenkill Valley Health Center offers a complete array of services. We provide easy access for busy lives-including day and evening hours, same-day sick appointments, and 24-hour year-round on-call coverage. Our health center cares for patients of all ages - infants to elderly, sick or well - throughout their lifetime.
BVHC is working to expand our telehealth capabilities which enables patients to facilitate online appointments with their medical and behavioral health providers when appropriate. This means you can see your provider from the comfort of your home. Note: Patients must be physically in the state of Vermont at the time of telehealth visit.
Lindsay Sherman, Population Health Manager (PHM), works with patients to create care plans and realistic goals to enhance health outcomes. She helps patients locate self-management workshops to meet their needs and to help reduce risk of chronic disease. Lindsay provides patients with tools that allow them to play an active role in managing their health.
We've created these links for quick access to helpful information and forms you might want to print off at home or use to update your medical record. BVHC puts out a weekly update with information regarding current events, health and wellness tips, ways to support a healthy lifestyle, and more.
In order for Battenkill Valley Health Center (BVHC) to provide you with exceptional healthcare, there are rules that we both need to follow. To receive considerate and respectful care regardless of your sex, age, race, religion, color, national origin, sexual orientation or other personal characteristics including source of payment of your care.

A few years ago I was sent out being told "not to be nervous " but that I had a heart attack or was ready to have one.......$5,000.00 later, one very frightened husband that was called along with the ambulance before I even knew it and what was wrong? I pulled my back coughing.... The PA was pointing at my atrium, when I know to look at elsewhere on the EKG strip ......long story short. PA was dismissed and I have had nothing but excellent care from Dr. Van for the past several years. Thanks doc because you were the one who made this right for me ,after such an incompetent experience. Thanks for

They made me aware of programs and cost reductions that my old dentist never suggested. And unlike my old dentist they are in network which is going to save me over a $1000 dollars next year. And they are as competent a bunch as my old office - I have yet to see any downside to moving to this new practice.

Great doctors and friendly staff. I highly recommend this new addition to VT healthcare! Such a pleasure to see a healthcare office that "gets it!"
