Most respectful hardware/lumber store had much better selection then home depot or lowes as i called home depot and lowes first I didn't know about them till today and I tell ya what the yard guys were amazingly helpful they cut what I needed as well I will always go here first before I go back to the big box stores thank you for great service

We purchased a gorgeous home with beautiful arched windows. When we decided to turn a den into a bedroom, we had to replace one of those windows to meet egress requirements. We wanted it to look the same and fit in the same opening. Jason at Garretson's got us the perfect custom window--and fast. When we wanted custom French doors for the same room, Jason came through again! Now we know where to go first!

The decently priced products come at the expense of the wages of the yard crew. Those men work hard 5 days a week to provide excellent customer service. Yet, Garretsens won't pay even competitive wages to them. Another locally owned company that depends on welfare to keep their employees housed and fed. Another company that follows the status quo and helps to keep Douglas County Oregon from actually thriving.

Stopped in this morning to see what they had for hardwoods may Be some purple heart wood. I was in the store for about 30 minutes no one said "hi" or offered to help. I was the only person in the store for most of the time. Everyone was sitting at a desk talking with their co-workers. Decent selection of woods and a great supply on hand. It didn't seem to be over priced, I don't mind paying a little more to buy local. They just didn't seem to interested in selling it.

These guys have cool stuff. I just can't afford to take time off from work to trade here on a regular basis during their banker-like hours.
Oh well. Lowe's and Home Depot are open every day, and usually until 10pm.
No wonder the big box stores end up driving locals out of business. Slick TV commercials are great, but being open when you can get there is worth much more.
