Woodies is a family owned wood purveyor here in Wilmington, NC. We sell lumber, slabs, marine plywood, bowl and pen blanks in dozens of different species. We sell exotic lumber and turning squares including, Sapele, Afrormosia, Wenge, Bubinga, Yellowheart, Redheart, Teak, Iroko, Pau Rosa, Pau Amarillo, Coco Bolo, Spalted Tamarind, Bocote, Zircote, Leopardwood, East Indian Rosewood, Chakte Viga, Roman Olivewood, Chakte Coc and many others.
Domestic species include Walnut, Red Oak, White Oak, Hickory, Ash, Gum, Hard Maple, Quilted Maple, Curly Maple, Spalted Maple, Birdseye Maple, Cypress, Cedar and others. We also carry the original Teak Decking from the Battleship USS North Carolina (BB-55) in full original planks and pen blanks. Our hours of operation are 10 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday & 9:30 am through 12:30 pm on Saturdays.

Awesome customer service, great selection of exotic wood. If you're looking for lumber for a special / niche project this is THE place to go. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
Ethical prices & practices. Can't speak more highly of this place, one of Wilmington's hidden gems.
Bought a raw, untreated block for Christmas and was extremely pleased with the quality and how the finished product turned out. Picture below is after sanding and mineral oil treatment - no stain!

Great guy great communication very knowledgeable about everything would related and has a great selection and it is willing to stand by you to help you figure everything out... Bottom line I couldn't ask for a better service for a $20 piece of walnut. It's a beautiful piece came with great service had a great price 👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸

Came to Wilmington last week. He moved. Came back out excited about his new place and picking up the stuff I’d been needing for a week! Online says he’s open till 430 but he was closed. since the post the owner addressed the issue. Had to check this place out! And to correct the 1-star review ‘Childers’ deemed appropriate. I forget the owners name but I was relieved to find his shop, while going to UNCW at the time, to request a guitar stock be jointed that I was restoring. No need to negotiate on terms, because of genuine character I encountered, I was further impressed by the craftsmanship and humble style I received, no matter the lead time or demeanor. I am not living in the area anymore, unfortunately however this shop stands alone with plenty of unique things we can learn about if we ask and demands our support
