In 1997, Ark La Tex Oriental Rug Gallery was established in Shreveport LA. We are a family owned and operated business, we choose Shreveport mainly because the city had a great need for an Oriental Rug Dealer. Our goal is to provide outstanding selection of Hand Woven Oriental Rugs and service to our customers in a true full service rug center.
Our main Goal is to make our clients feel like they are at home when shopping with us. We are very knowledgeable about the products we sell and give our customers the right details about how the rugs are woven, what country they originated from, and the different types of workmanship available.

Services
Life has changed quite a bit in the 21st Century. In the last part of the 20th Century, we've seen innovations like CDs, DVDs, cell phones, iPhones, the Internet and satellite television. Today, all these technologies have become a part of our lives. Yet, some things never change. Oriental rugs, for instance.
To maintain the beauty and longevity of your rug, we provide expert cleaning in our facility for all types of hand made rugs including: wool, silks, durries, braided, flat-weave, killim, and needlepoint rugs. Pick up and delivery service is available. For best results, handmade rugs should be professionally cleaned every two to four years depending on the traffic.
If you've never bought an Oriental rug before, you may be a little confused and overwhelmed by the dizzying number of factors that determine the price - and value - of a rug. At first glance, you might assume, for instance, that rugs are sold like many other things - where the overall size of the piece determines the price, or perhaps that there's a "Good/Better/Best" set of features that you can use to determine the kind of rug you can afford.
Vacuum the rug in the direction of the nap, which you can determine by running your hand over the surface. Never catch the fringes in the vacuum or the rug can get ruined. Never put a house plant on the rug, no matter how careful you are, moisture can penetrate on the rug, creating permanent mildew damage.

I just moved to Shreveport and i visited this rug shop and they were very knowledgeable on their rugs. They had the best prices in the Arklatex region and a very nice, family run organization. They worked with me to get the very best deal. I also recommend their cleaning and repair it is the best in town!
