Hillside Nursery's Tree Farm, located just one mile south of Derby, has been growing an outstanding selection of trees and nursery stock in the Wichita area since 1950. Experienced horticulturalists oversee every aspect of growing trees, from seedling to the sales yard, carefully cultivating, staking, pruning and nurturing these trees to ensure a stunning specimen acclimated to our unique Kansas climate.
For many decades, bare root planting was the preferred method for all plant sales. Hillside Nursery has been providing quality bare root plant material ready for early spring plantings for over 90 years! Bare root plants are lighter in weight and less bulky making transport, handling, and planting a breeze!.

Hillside nursery is the Connoisseur's nursery. The plants are kept with loving care and the staff are super knowledgeable about the entire subject of gardening. The prices are a bit higher than big box stores but since your hillsides plants are almost certain to grow in the end they are less expensive than the lowes or walmarts or similar sellers.

This is a nicely laid out, very laid back location. Really works well for us. Not a fan of over-"helpful" folks that won't leave you alone. The people here will definitely help if you ask, and let you wander and peruse if you don't. Thank you! The selection was nice and we really liked the option of larger more mature tree starts.

I bought my little house in January and knew I had my work cut out for me. The front beds had been neglected for years. Decided to go to Hillside Nursery to get help with what to plant. All the men and lady’s are very professional and they know there trees . I bought many trees from hillside nursery last year and never lost a tree . I live 115 miles from them and they graciously came and planted them for me. They are the best of the best is what I say . I am loving Hillside Nursery.
