Nashville Ballet
The strength of the company is illustrated in the longevity of the organization and individual dancer careers. That longevity can be attributed to the experiences dancers have within the company and the city, in general. Nicknamed "Music City, " Nashville offers southern hospitality and metropolitan culture in a navigable mid-sized city.

As its nickname suggests, Nashville embraces every genre of music. But that artistic appreciation extends beyond music into every form of art. Nashville offers its residents fine art, music and performance art of all kinds. Also called the "Athens of the South" for its diverse cultural and educational opportunities, Nashville provides affordable housing and employment opportunities for its 600,000 residents.

Nashville's own version of this timeless holiday classic tells the tale of Clara, a young girl who travels on a fantastic journey with the help of her magical Uncle Drosselmeyer. This special holiday tradition introduces young audiences to Nashville Ballet's unique version of the traditional story by taking them on a short trip through the Land of the Sweets.
Since its founding in 1986, Nashville Ballet has grown to become the largest professional ballet company in Tennessee, presenting a varied repertoire of classical ballet and contemporary works by noted choreographers, including original works by Artistic Director Paul Vasterling.

Nashville Ballet owns its own building, the Martin Center for Nashville Ballet, a customized 44,000 square foot facility that serves as a home for our professional dancers, school students and administrative offices.Though some performances are held at the Martin Center for Nashville Ballet, most performances are held at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) in downtown Nashville.
Nashville Ballet is governed by a Board of Directors, a working board of community leaders accountable for making the artistic aspirations and financial well-being of Nashville Ballet its top priorities. Members of Nashville Ballet's Board of Directors give their time, talents, and treasures to further the organization's goals.

The senseless murder of George Floyd highlights the systemic racism and continued disrespect for black lives that permeates our society. The ballet world is not immune to this racism and prejudice, and silence on this issue will no longer be tolerated. Our world must change.

We must take conscious, actionable steps to better ourselves and those around us until we have uprooted and dismantled the culture of bigotry and disregard of black people and all marginalized groups. At Nashville Ballet, we must begin with furthering our dedication to recognizing, addressing, and abolishing the racial inequalities that have plagued the dance world and remain within this industry.

When I was 16 I attended the Nashville Ballet Summer Intensive. It changed my life forever, I knew when I had my own children I wanted them experience ballet as a foundation for wherever they chose to do in their lives.
My son has been training at the Nashville Ballet 4 years now! My daughter will be starting her first year in the fall!
What has been the most meaningful experience for me this past year is the Nashville Ballet's ability to adapt and create a safe environment for everyone to express themselves. This has deepened my trust and solidified our relationship with them.
I do have a nostalgic

Nashville Ballet has the greatest staff for adult dance classes. I had not done ballet or modern dance in years. I began attending classes while in college and it was truly one of the greatest things I've ever done. It is by far what I miss most about Nashville. The instructors were so kind, knowledgable, helpful, and uplifting. The facility is incredible. I always felt welcomed there and I had an incredible time. It was truly a life-changing experience and I haven't been able to find anything like it since I moved.I cannot even begin to truly describe how amazing the classes are.

Daughter absolutely loves it. She loves the attention she gets from her instructors and the chance to really try ballet in a serious studio, even for a 9 year old! This is her third year, first in the Academy. We all appreciate the guidelines they are following for covid related safety. Wonderful facility and staff. We are lucky to have such a reputable dance studio in Nashville. Well run and very communicative.

I'm writing a review soley of of the nashville ballet "The Nutcracker "On live tv for the 2020 season . You could tell that this dance studio has professionalisam at heart . The dancers from each age division were exquisite . It is definitely seems to be an professional environment ,where discipline is trained ,however you can still tell the dancers are having fun . They put alot of work into what they do . I do know some friends who take and did take classes here and their experiences seem to have been enjoyable !

It was a disappointing experience. $600+ for tickets and they added so much to the program that it lost sso much. They should have stuck to the story and left out the Indians and Daniel Boone.
I went to see the Nutcracker not dancing dragons
The dancing was beautiful, just wish the would have left it alone.

My daughter just completed her first Academy level here and has loved every minute of it and grown both professional and emotionally as a dancer thanks to the wonderful and supportive teaching staff at Nashville Ballet. She is now doing her first Junior Intensives program this summer and I can not wait to see the outcome.

The teachers are very sweet. The method being taught is wonderful. My children really enjoy it! However, the facility is not optimal. The waiting area is small, crowded, & always hot, no matter the time of year. It always feels dirty & the bathroom is gross.

Caught a wonderful performance by the Nashville Ballet last night at the Kennedy Center. But trying to learn more about the company or buy tickets is impossible. None of the websites work, noone is manning the ticket line, not even a message to say what the hours are, and a call to the company to report this was dismissed.

Sad to see them losing an opportunity to pull in more fans. Hope this gets fixed soon.

This place is unlike any dance school I've ever taken classes at before. The size of this place is enormous and seems a little bit like being on a college campus to me. The environment is really cool, the instruction is excellent and the only thing I don't care for as much is that is seems a little impersonable due to the massive number of students taking class.

This place is inspiring! An amazing organization, from the school to the performances. We are lucky to have this company in our city, I don't think there's another ballet regional company in the country that performs a majority of their shows with LIVE MUSIC. The programming is always entertaining without compromising the artistry... I just can't say enough great things about Nashville Ballet.

Have been going for Hip-Hop classes here. When the GPS takes you there, you question where am I going and then this majestic building appears seemingly out of nowhere. The teachers are awesome dancers and great instructors. And of course the Nashville Ballet has performances, like the Nutcracker at TPAc but also many other dance productions.

Even arriving at the majestic modern building of Nashville Ballet never seizes to amaze me. Yet, their hip hop classes are phenomenal. At the start of the lesson, the teacher Dorse switches to sneakers after just having taught contemporary dance. Within one hour he teaches you a whole new routine in any style if hip hop, in a vibrant, encouraging yet patient manner. What I like best about his teaching that his emphasis is always on the one thing which it is all about: the beat of the music. When he demonstrates the moves you simply see a master at work. Highly recommended!

There aren't enough amazing things I can say about the Nashville Ballet. This may be the most talented group of dancers assembled. Their ability to flawlessly execute classic ballets and new contemporary styles with equal grace is one of my favorite things about them. The space here in West Nashville also provides dance classes for people of all ages. I took a class here years ago and I can honestly say I looked forward to it with all the excitement of a kid at Christmas. The dancers are patient and enthusiastic in helping you learn their craft. There's something for all levels
