To achieve your financial goals when planning your retirement, it's crucial you work with a consultant who has comprehensive knowledge and experience in your federal benefits. Social Security is available only to those who pay into the program-about 97% of elderly Americans1. While you may think that everyone pays into Social Security, some people do not-employees of some railroads and state employees who participate in state pension programs, among others. Social Security offers participants a predetermined, steady, lifetime income based on the amount of money they have put into the program.
Countless surveys show Americans fear outliving their retirement savings. With the cost-of-living and inflation constantly on the rise, this is a valid concern for those approaching their retirement. Social Security is the only retirement income you can count on in your golden years. That's why it's crucial to understand how timing when you file for Social Security can help maximize your benefit and avoid costly mistakes.
The Social Security program is funded by contributions that workers and their employers pay into the system under the Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) of 1935. Contributions take the form of FICA taxes that are withheld from most employee paychecks. For Social Security, an additional 6.20% is paid by your employer on your behalf.

Since at least 2011 we've trusted Boggs Group with our taxes. They've always been very professional and always responsive. This last season there was an issue with a housing credit we received in 2008, and my wife called. I'd like to apologize for being high maintenance clients. Whoever answered the phone did not want to speak to her and made sure all her questions could have been answered on the IRS website. We were expecting a phone call from out accountant, and didn't get one. I'm sorry we followed up.
