Know your elevation. Taos County includes a range of elevations, usually between about 7,000 and 9,000 feet. Elevation can affect things like the length of your growing season and what types of plants and trees are best supported. Know your surroundings and orientation. Wow, isn't customer service about working with customers to ensure they get what they are looking for? I got to Petree's about 4:10 pm on a Sat. Closing is at 5pm. Is this why the forty-something woman in the hat treated me like I was a nuisance to her? I was asking questions about trees for our property 12 miles up the mountain from Taos. The woman was condescending, curt, rude, and proceeded to treat me like I was stupid. I wanted to buy an apple tree, pear, or Hawthorne, but she just wanted to berate me that it wouldn't survive up where we are, and I needed to look trees up on

I'm new to the area and have a new home with no landscaping at all. I've been to Petree's a number of times and have found everyone helpful and they know there stuff. One thing I like is there rewards card, you can give back to the community the 10 o/o off they offer you. It shows they are community minded
