The basics and fundamentals of Pilates are so grounded and in depth, you can learn something new and more deeply profound each time you practice. It is truly a loving creation of your body, and makes one an active participant in that creation process through the integration of the mind-body approach.
Services
Though many workout methods developed over the years borrow some of their principles from Pilates, true Pilates as it is practiced at Pilates Bodies takes a holistic approach. We focus on the details of movement and consider the balance of the whole person. Our small class sizes and extensive training allow us to develop high quality programs tailored to meet unique and specific needs of each client who walks through our door.
Pilates is method of conditioning the body through resistance-controlled exercises that strengthen and stretch the muscles, open the joints, and release tension throughout the body. The Focus of Pilates is on abdominal control through the use of breath and on pelvic stabilization. By centering around the abdomen, Pilates strengthens the muscles in the back, hips, and stomach to support the spine.
We provide private sessions, duets, trios and classes of 4 or 5 per teacher. We request that your first class is a private one on one with an instructor so we can teach you the fundamentals of breath, posture and the Pilates basics before you would join a group. Also, it helps our teachers to learn about your body, and your wants and needs.
All new clients to Pilates Bodies come in for a private session to discuss their needs and learn the fundamentals of Pilates. All of our classes are by appointment (sorry no online scheduling) because of our individualize approach to Pilates. Each of our classes are at different levels and many focus on different issues.
