This firm represents clients in a wide variety of real estate type disputes. These range from boundary line disputes to enforcements of covenants and restrictions in subdivisions. For most people the purchase of a home and property is the largest single investment of a lifetime. Many of these issues are common and require immediate attention.
In Tennessee, both written and oral contracts are generally enforceable. And because contracts often contain clauses with vague or ambiguous language that are difficult to interpret, it's important to understand any contract before you enter into a legally binding agreement and risk facing a costly lawsuit.
At Ralls, Wooten & Black, we have years of experience representing both landlords and tenants regarding commercial and residential leases. Under Tennessee law, residential landlord and tenant issues are controlled by the lease agreement and the Uniform Residential Landlord Tenant Act. In short, this act only affects residential leases and establishes certain rights and obligations for landlords and tenants.
This firm represents parties that are harmed by professional negligence. Professional negligence arises from actions or inactions taken by licensed professionals such as attorneys, engineers, contractors, certified public accountants, financial advisers, home inspection professionals, surveyors and other professions that require licensing by the state.

My experience was with Damon Wooten. I'm not going to go into detail. Long story short, he had a professional business relationship with the opposing parties private investigator. In court during a recess when he noticed my wife with the private investigator Kim Litton, he got noticeably uncomfortable. Continue to tell me that it would not interfere or be a problem with my case. He then proceeded to charge me another $3,600 and quit on me a week before court. The moment he found out that the opposing party had somebody involved that he has a business relationship with, he should have quit immediately

I have used Damon Wooten on two different family matters...one of which being my divorce. In both cases right up front he told me what he charges and if you think he is high, call other attorneys and find out what they charge. There are a lot more out there that charge more and if they charge less...remember...you get what you pay for. Not only did Damon excel at representing me on both my cases, he surprised me by getting me a whole lot more from my divorce than what I thought I would get. There were times when I wanted to throw in the hat and just get my divorce over with but Damon would sit me
