In an effort to make you more comfortable when you arrive at our office and to streamline the new patient process, you will be able to complete all the necessary items prior to your first visit. At La Grande Family Eye Care, we strive to make sure the time we spend with you during your visit is quality time.
At La Grande Family Eye Care, our goal is promote good eye health and enable you to have the clearest vision possible. We accept several types of vision insurance, cash, checks, and most credit cards. We inform our patients about exam and treatment costs at the beginning of your appointment. If you require a breakdown of costs, please let us know.
Dr. Kimball grew up in Pleasant Grove, UT. After High School he served a two-year mission for his church in Quebec, Canada. Upon returning he attended Brigham Young University where he met his wife Christine. After receiving a bachelors of science in 2005, Dr. Kimball was accepted into the Ohio State University College of Optometry program and graduated with his Doctor of Optometry and Masters of Science degrees in 2009.
We offer a complete range of eye care services from personalized contact lens fittings and eyeglasses to the complex medical management of ocular diseases such as eye infections, glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. We offer specialty consultation in difficult to fit contact lenses, low vision rehabilitation, and vision therapy.
At La Grande Family Eye Care, we strive to provide comprehensive, primary eye care for the whole family. Preventative and routine eye exams are important to maintaining good eye health. Often, eye and vision problems do not have obvious symptoms or signs, but are easily diagnosed by a licensed optometrist.

Today was my first visit and it was exceptional. I haven’t been to the optometrist in over 10 years so I was long overdue. I saw Dr. Kimbal and he was great. He was very kind, very caring to my situation and he explained everything perfectly. He was also very professional. If you are looking for a new optometrist like I was, I highly suggest him and this office.

Dr. Sam Kimball has provided outstanding care to me and my family members. I cannot thank him enough for his care and understanding. He is very professional and compassionate! I've been to a handful of Optometrists and Doctor Glabe stands out as the best practitioner by far. When I first got to La Grande I had terrible vision with ghosting and I felt hopeless because I've seen so many eye doctors who failed to improve my condition. I saw doctor Glabe and he was so thorough with the refraction and I just felt like this was going to work. I got my glasses in the mail and my vision is 200 percent better. He really is the best. Thanks Dr. Glabe!
