Starting with an anonymous 1960s urban clearance retail building, A4 Architecture was able to create a structure which had the look of a Victorian Era building. The challenge was making it fit nicely within it's historic location in downtown Newport. As a result of the renovation, the rent role increased and vacancy decreased to zero.
Located at the top of Bellevue Avenue, this hotel was out of date and nondescript. A4 Architecture was asked to add a new porch and front to the building in a historic character suitable to the venerable structure. The new building is a hit with both its customers and its illustrious neighbors!
In undertaking the renovation of a 7800 square foot carriage house on the former grounds of a Newport estate, A4 Architecture did extensive historical research.Every element of the interior and exterior was redesigned to be sympathetic to the original design while every system was updated to make it a comfortable and modern residence.

Having used an old farm building for many years, the Conanicut Yacht Club racquet committee knew they needed a new structure but like the charm and simplicity of the old building. We won the competition to create the new structure, which we located closer to the courts while still including the vernacular charm and features the members wanted.

A4 ARCHITECTURE undertook a historic restoration and designed a garage for our Victorian home located in the Historic Point neighborhood of Newport. His extensive historical knowledge helped us get our Historic District approvals. His architectural expertise resulted in a beautiful and functional design while also providing all practical considerations for such a structure. He listened closely to our needs and was a pleasure to work with on the design and construction.
