We are a 65+ member non-profit sailing club affiliated with the Southern California Yachting Association. We are sailing enthusiasts who enjoy sailing in all its manifestations: Sailing for Recreation, Sailing for Competition (racing) and Sailing Education and Training. We are based out of the Lake Mead Marina in the beautiful setting of Lake Mead National Recreation Area in Hemenway Harbor in Boulder Basin just minutes from Boulder City, Nevada.
To teach the citizens of Southern Nevada the art and responsibility of sailing, navigation, water safety and seamanship, to encourage sailing as a sport and recreation, and to encourage fellowship among Nevada Yachtsmen. This objective will be accomplished through sail training seminars, social functions, and an active racing and cruising program.

If you have ever wanted to learn more about sailing and sailboats this is a good place to start! This course is for the absolute beginner and for the sailor who just needs a refresher course. Two days of instruction both in the classroom and on the water on club members' mono hull sailboats. Learn boating safety, points of sail, parts of the boat, sail trim, steering, weather and more.
They say if you can sail on Lake Mead you can sail anywhere! Now try racing in these conditions: 3knots or 13knots, our race committee is professional, skilled and fun! Non-members are welcome to join the races, but pay a premium fee. Members of NYC and non members pay per series or regatta. See the calendar for all upcoming races.
Youths with little to no previous sailing experience learn to sail a Sabot on Lake Mead. This informal class is designed to give the sailor a fundamental base of sailing. Sailors will develop confidence in boat handling and basic water safety skills. We encourage sailors to become good mariners by teaching them sportsmanship, a respect for fellow sailors and instructors, and stewardship of the environment.
Nevada Yacht Club (NYC) has promised a commitment to youth training. Sea Scouts have a commitment to youth training. Goals of both organizations converge. There is a compelling reason for making their resources converge. That convergence would be a Maritime Explorer Club sponsored by NYC. Nevada Yacht Club is chartered to engage in education.
A thrilling San Diego boat charter. You'll feel like one of the crew as you help raise and trim the sails or take your turn at the helm to steer the boat. If you'd rather sit back and relax, that's fine, too. Located at the Kona Kai Resort & Marina on Shelter Island, San Diego Bay. Parking is plentiful and free, and there is no sailing experience necessary to join us.
