Pound Ridge, New York was originally home to the Siwanoy and Kitchawong Indians, who planted, fished, and kept game in enclosures called "pounds" on various ridges in the area. Colonists settled it in the 1640s and a town was established in 1788.

The land on which the nursery now stands was once owned by Major Ebenezer Lockwood, the leader of the Pound Ridge Militia in the American Revolution who took part in a notorious raid by British Lt. Col. Banastre Tarleton.Although much of the town was destroyed, two of the original buildings from this time still stand as our store and a private home, both of which are now historic landmarks.

I bought a fushia hanging plant as a gift for my sister and asked about wrapping it. I realized they don't really do that . I
continued shopping only to return to the counter to find my plant beautifully wrapped by Shirley. The other worker couldn't have been nicer. It was such a lovely experience amongst beautiful flowers. They go the extra for their clients.

Hadn't been for awhile. I used to love to go cuz they had different items...not the same old plants that all nurseries have. Very disappointed. Nothing special! Oh well.

One of my favorite nurseries for perennials and shrubs. I found the service to be very friendly and helpful with my questions. Nice selection of annuals and seeds. Plus a little bit of all the garden accessories that make me browse and spend.
