I would like to start by saying a 5 star score is too low. GM Versland and his staff are fantastic and work so well with kids. Our son was with Legacy for 3 years and the only reason we left is because we moved out of state. I highly recommend Legacy Karate if your child is interested in martial arts.

I tried couple other karate academies before deciding to stick with Legacy 2 years ago. That was the best decision I made! I have noticed a big difference in my used to be very shy kid. Both my kids love their classes. Grand Master V is very helpful, flexible with the schedules and professional. Would highly recommend.

I’ve had 2 Children pass through Legacy, one even obtaining her black belt. I found the staff to be excellent my children were always prepared for tests and we’re excited to go to class each and every time. Grand Master Versland is a born teacher and I’d recommend his karate studio to all those considering beginning or resuming the sport.

My children were students at Legacy Karate for 7+ years. We started coming because one of my three children is autistic and was having a hard time staying focused and on task at school. We do not live in the area and my husband and I figured if we were going to make the 35 minute drive we may as well sign all three kids up. After all, we heard Grandmaster Versland was the best karate instructor around! Everything we heard was true. It was well worth the drive 3 times a week for all those years. Grandmaster V made my kids feel welcome from the moment we walked in. He walked them through everything

Grand Master Versland and his staff are absolutely the best! My daughter started there 7 years ago at age 8 and her experience has been amazing! She really enjoys going to class. There is much more to karate than learning the forms...there’s learning respect, integrity, getting along with others, how to persevere, and learn from your mistakes. The environment there is supportive, inclusive, and encouraging, both from the staff and amongst the kids themselves. The kids that go there learn a ton of things that will benefit them for their entire lives.

My daughter trained for several years under Grand Master Eric Versland and his colleagues at Legacy Karate. She learned Tang Soo Do, but perhaps more importantly gained self-confidence and strength that even now, years later, serve her well in athletics, academics and personal relationships.
I’ve personally seen Grand Master Versland take great interest in each of his students, from 5-6 year-old beginners to grown adults who’ve achieved several levels of black belts. I highly recommend Legacy Karate, particularly to anyone looking to find an activity that will benefit their child beyond the
