Also living on our 72-acre ranch are buffalo, llamas, goats, and miniature horses. We are open year-round and our cabins & cabooses are pet-friendly.

Buffalo Creek Vacations is a family owned & operated business. It was our father, Harold Clackett, who retired as a UPS truck driver on LI, New York who always had a dream of raising bison & building his retirement log home. They built their log home with the help of all of their 5 sons & their 1 daughter over the course of a few years & then it was time to move.
Browse the different cabins offered by Buffalo Creek Vacations in the Great Smoky Mountains. Must be kenneled if left unattended in the cabin, we provide large kennels in each cabin (please call for special consideration). Sorry, no pets allowed on beds or furniture & $100 will be deducted from deposit if cleaners find pet hair on furniture.

Buffalo Creek is a working ranch, we care for a herd of bison, llamas, goats, mini horses, rabbits, and a turkey. Part of the charm of staying at Buffalo Creek is the interaction with the animals. Their gardens - designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted - come to life with wave after wave of gorgeous blooms.

This was a unique experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful. This was a relaxing and quiet trip. The animals were enjoyable. If you like the outdoors, you will enjoy this! We stayed in the caboose. It was a little small for our group but would have been nice for a couple or for a couple with 2 small children (like 5 & 6 yr olds). Maybe the only recommemdation would be to add a second wall mount a/c. It got warm in the caboose during the daytime. If you love animals and the outdoors, you will love buffalo creek. Next time, we will try a cabin.
