Since the inception of locally owned Guarantee Shoe Center in 1953 on the corner of 21st and Chester Avenue in downtown Bakersfield, it's been a family affair. Third generation owner, Rosco Rolnick carries on the proud tradition that his grandfather Nat Slepyan started many years ago. The philosophy was simple, "We care about our customers, our employees and our community".

That mindset continues today under the watchful eye of Rosco. Rosco has an eye for detail and it shows in every aspect of the business. From the hand painted mural (insert mural photo) on the south exterior depicting turn of the century Bakersfield to the colorful hand painted floors inside the store that seem to guide the customer through an elaborate display of shoes and accessories.

I was able to find Hoka shoes in stock here.
I had gone to several other shoe stores in town that stated online that they sold Hoka brand shoes, but not so.

I love this shoe store. My feet hurt if I try to wear shoes without support. They carry brands that look good and have support. They also have sales often. The sales persons there are always so helpful and kind.

I shopped here for years for nursing shoes because I had to get good shoes. They carry the best brands for work. Recently I went to find a pair of shoes for my grandson who wears a men's 15 wide, which no one else has in their store. I gave them 4 🌟 because they are so expensive but they always have what you need.

I received the best customer service today from Frankie Lopez. I haven’t had that level of service in 20 years. He treated me like I was the only person in the store. Of course none of the shoes I selected were available in my size but he made sure to bring out several well thought out options for me. I left with 2 pairs of the most comfortable shoes amd couldn’t be happier. Thank you Frankie for taking such good care of me. I will be back!

Thank you Frankie for taking care of my needs, I couldn't have went to a better place. The overall experience was absolutely fantastic. I have never had top A customer service (EVER) in the process of purchasing shoes. I was so overwhelmed with how satisfying each recommendation he had for my special feet.
