Cute comfortable cabin feeling. Stayed in "woodland" themed room. Super friendly staff. The parking lot is small. We weren't able to use our parking space outside of our room, but that's not the fault of the Inn. (Someone in another room didn't pull up far enough). Hotel staff was able to accommodate us, so we still had parking. Love this cute place. Can't wait to come back and visit a different themed room!

This motel is so cute! Every room has a different theme where other motels are so streamlined and boring here is very unique and quaint. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are very clean. The holiday decorations for Halloween are super cute and the staff is super friendly, thoughtful and very helpful with whatever you may need. They are dog friendly too! They even provide a doggy towel and a little welcome gift with doggie treats for your fur baby, so thoughtful!

A great respite after camping/hiking in Tahoe National Forest! Excellent
hospitality with little thoughtful touches like doggie bones, complimentary charcoal, smoking areas, and an assortment of teas & coffee. The water pressure is also to die for: so perfect and refreshing! Rooms are cozy and have plenty of character, unlike most lifeless hotel rooms (we stayed a night in the Autumn room with our dog). Also loved the self check-in feature. Would recommend to all families and couples traveling to Nevada City!

This inn is adorable. I grew up in Nevada City and I've seen all that these buildings have been in the past. Each room is themed around activities and/or history in the area. The beds were comfortable and everything is very clean. You have everything you need! It was nice that we only needed it for one night and did not have to book more. The staff was very accommodating. Will return!

I keep coming back to the Outside Inn as a great place to stay while visiting family in Nevada City. I really feel that they pay attention to all the important things. This time was the first time I could check in directly with a code on the door. They even customized it to match my phone number.
Of course they had staff present during the day but this made it easy and safe. All the rooms are personalized with adventure sports or other local outing possibilities. This trip I made it out to South Yuba to watch my grandson do some cliff diving into a pool below. Beautiful trails, wonderful time with

Stayed there once, it was nice. Booked again for a trip and had to cancel the next day, more than two weeks from our prospective check in. We were charged a 10% cancellation fee. We booked the room on March 7, 2021 for March 23, 2021 and had to cancel on March 8, 2021. I will never stay there again. If this is how they treat people who have an honest reason to cancel and more than 14 days away, what will they do if you really need help.

My Love surprised me with a weekend getaway. We went here as stayed at the Wildflower room. So quaint and cute. I only stayed one night but it was so much fun. Nevada City is one of my favorite places to go with My Love. Room was clean. Bathroom was clean. Did not smell of cigarettes. I will definitely visit again. They have different rooms with different themes. It's a family owned business and we should support them as much as possible.

This little gem has been our "go to" for quick, fun weekend trips. We love everything about this establishment: clean, cute, cozy, and customer service. While it's not a luxury high-end property, it was never meant to be one .. instead, it's charming and unique. Family- and dog-friendly, while still feeling romantic for couples.

DO NOT STAY HERE! I was charged twice for my room at the Outside Inn while staying for a single night and the owner, Erin Thiem, has declined to issue a refund despite numerous requests.
I initially booked the Angler's Room and later decided to upgrade to the Climber's Suite. I booked through hotels.com as that offered the best rate and I reached out to the hotel to ask about the best method to upgrade and the owner, Erin, asked that I switch rooms through hotels.com. I'm unsure why Erin suggested this method as The Outside Inn then charged hotels.com both for the room that I stayed

I'm so disappointed at the Outside Inn. We were going to stay there this weekend with two friends who recently had a baby and have been going stir crazy. Unfortunately, due to all the fires nearby, the air quality isn't fit for a newborn. I called to cancel as soon as we found out (69 hours before instead of their 72 hours cancellation policy) and they did nothing to work with us. I fully understand not getting a full refund but we weren't even offered a partial refund or a credit to stay another time. Instead, they took all of my money and told me, politely, to go f*ck myself. The

Such a beautiful little place to stay. We loved the location. We were able to park and take the beautiful 8 minute walk into the downtown area. All the great food options are nice and the little shops to look at are fun. The place is clean, and the staff is very friendly. We loved walking around the grounds.

Everything was pleasant at the Outside Inn. Reasonably priced, very clean and quiet. We walked down Broad Street for dinner and walked back through an amazing neighborhood. Other guests at the Inn were quite friendly also. We were all outdoors types planning to bike, hike, and explore the Yuba River and were happy to get a good night's rest. My friend and I booked the smallest room that had two twin beds. It was perfect for our needs and even had a TV! The ice machine worked great, too! So happy to have found this little gem and will definitely visit again!

I was recently up here for a family emergency. Google maps took me the wrong way into this establishment which is a dead end but I thought that it was a street at first. I had my windows down and drove around the tiny narrow one way loop to turnaround. A women in her 50's or so that works here or maybe owns it became verbally passive aggressive with me. She made me feel like I was trespassing and not welcomed. I apologized twice. She made it clear that I was on a Private driveway. When I got to my family's house ironically they suggested that I stay there because it was near by but I

Highly recommended especially for families with children. Tucked away from the busy downtown Nevada City but easy walking distance, there are splendid, unique areas for children to explore and play that are more natural than playgrounds. The staff is special, the room unpretentious but clean and comfortable. I'd happily return.
