We recommend that sewing machines that are used on a semi-regular basis be serviced every 2-4 years. A machine that is used regularly, 3+ days a week, should be brought in at least once a year. Keep in mind that even if the machine is stored and not used often, it should be brought in for a service every 4-5 years.

We had a stellar experience at Hillsboro Vac & Sew. We brought in our 18-year-old Dyson to have a severed wire replaced, and Ron and his amazing team not only repaired the machine but thoroughly cleaned it. It’s now working like new!
The customer service was top notch — very pleasant experience at the shop, and the work was done within two days.
Before beginning, Ron was also fully transparent about a potential issue they might encounter (given its age, replacement parts are becoming harder to locate) and showed us a similar refurbished model on the floor, which he offered to set aside for

Such helpful and friendly staff! I took my antique treadle sewing machine here to purchase some missing parts. They found the correct parts for my machine, installed them for me, and gave me advice about taking care of it. They even told me some history about my machine! Happy to support this lovely business.

We stopped in to look at upgrading our vacuum because the Hoover was on its last legs. Mike helped us by showing some top brand vacuums by Cirrus, Kirby and Dyson, but ended up buying a nice Oreck that was completely refurbished by their shop and came with a two year warranty. We're very happy with the pricing and service

After going through a couple of vacuums the last 10 years I thought I'd check out their selection and they educated me on how many of the dept store models are literally made to break after just a few years so you have to replace them. They had an amazing Miele Vacuum that has incredible suction power for small particles, and paid a very fair price for it.

The owner (I wish I could remember his name) was very courteous and I had a great customer service experience. Everybody there, including the cat, was friendly and engaging with the customers. Not only did he repair my Dyson, he offered assistance on a vintage toaster that just recently blew a filament. He also offered to let me bring in my extra Dyson accessories to help me figure out what parts I'm missing, and how they attach to the main unit. I highly recommend Hillsboro Vac & Sew! My Dyson works just as good now, if not better, as when it was new!!!
