Our reservation booking has changed, please allow time for the full update while we are making this change. The Park is at about 1800' elevation in the middle of the Pisgah National Forest, nestled in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains on all sides. Beautiful Buck Creek flows through this valley and along two sides of the campground.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is only about 3 miles away, but it's 5 miles by road. We are surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery. You can take in many of the interesting attractions that are only a short drive away or you can just relax by the stream and listen to the cold clear water flowing over the rocky stream bed.

Services
When we reserve a campsite for you, we actually take it off the market for the dates you reserve. Even though we may have subsequent requests from others for a site on these dates, we save the site just for you - even if it means turning away other customers! A reservation is an agreement between you and us.
Austin and Tyler noticed that some of the younger visitors were perhaps lacking in some needed entertainment. Not electronics, mind you! Both of them having young children themselves, they empathized with other parents and put their heads together to design a truly awesome playground for the young and young at heart.
Camping has been a real joy in the lives of all of our family for many years. We, Jim and Kenita, brought up our daughters camping in the mountains and on the coast. There was always the vague dream and the occasional comment of having our own campground. A few years ago, our sons-in-law, Tyler and Austin, began in earnest to search for a campground or land to build one.
We have firewood available for purchase at our Camp Store. Campers are no longer allowed to bring their own firewood due to regulations from the NC Department of Agriculture and The Blue Ridge Parkway. To preserve the beauty of our wooded Camp, please do not cut down or damage trees in any way.
North Carolina prohibits the interstate and intrastate (within state) movement of firewood (hardwood, softwood, seasoned and green) from federal and state quarantined areas to prevent the spread of invasive forest pest species.

Since starting Mountain Stream RV Park back in 1990, our campgrounds have exclusively accommodated RV owners. Well this is all about to change, as we are now taking reservations for our brand new yurt rentals! Yurts are perfect for those who don't own an RV, but prefer a more luxury camping experience.

****** CAUTION, CAUTION, CAUTION ******* MUST READ! We would leave this RV park a ZERO if the platform would let us. We were told by "Julie" we need to reserve a spot at least a year early to visit this park so I did. 14 months before our stay!!! Unfortunately we can't be there in Oct of 2022 ( so I called to cancel 9 months early yesterday) and she said ( We are keeping $50 of your deposit) We called 9 months early to cancel and they are trying to charge us? We will be reporting this to our credit card company immediately!! We are shocked if this was 2 or 4 weeks before our sty I would accept

We visited Mountain Stream RV Park over the Thanksgiving Holiday. We were in site 4 and parking was super easy. Some of the sites looked a bit tricky to back into...with planning and patience it would be fine.
Our site backed up to the stream which was filled with trout. The setting was beautiful.
The campground was very well maintained. The bathhouse and showers were very clean (and had lots of hot water!).
Mountain Stream RV Park is close to many hiking trails and far enough from the closest city to feel remote. Perfect balance.
Do yourself a favor and follow the directions the RV Park provides

The campground is nice. Most if not all of the sites are back-in. We had no problem backing in, though. Bathrooms were clean. Nice pavilion to sit and watch TV or just visit. The internet was not very good and T-mobile had no reception. As others have pointed out the road is narrow and winding, I mean really narrow and really winding. Certainly there is nothing the campground can do about it, but it is something too consider. If you like being off the grid and in a nice place then this will fit the bill. If it hadn't been for the internet it would have been 5 stars.

Beautiful maintained RV park, with great staff that is so helpful. While we're only 3 months into full-time RV'ing, Mountain Stream RV Park is by far our favorite park. Each site is fairly level, well maintained with great landscaping...not to mention most spots backup to the beautiful flowing stream (and most have decks overlooking water). The bathhouse is clean and has the best water pressure and plenty of hot water. Play ground, dog park and outdoor areas are great for the whole family.
Good news is they are expanding further along the stream...hopefully it makes it easier to get reservations

Mountain stream RV Park is a lovely spot and I very much wanted to like it and enjoy it given I drove 16 hours to get there. However my experience though very good generally missed the mark for us on a few points.
I stayed in site 16 that included a deck on the water unlike most of the other sites 16 was right on top of site 15 and 17 there was no privacy, and our next door neighbors had seven people and two dogs on their deck at most times dof the day and though they were polite and quiet that was still a lot of people within 5 ft of you. This was not the vacation I was hoping to have It was
