HWA Wildlife Consulting, LLC (previously Hayden-Wing Associates), is an environmental consulting firm based in Laramie, Wyoming. Efficient, accurate, reliable. HWA utilizes aerial surveys for a variety of research applications including roosting locations, population estimation, big-game seasonal habitat use, winter concentration areas and spring breeding surveys.

There are three main federal statutes that provide protection for birds: Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, and the Endangered Species Act. In addition, federal land management agencies enforce various distance and timing restrictions associated with certain bird nests for projects requiring federal permits.
Our team of qualified wildlife biologists have the knowledge to assist with conservation, regulatory compliance, and planning throughout the western US. We are familiar with Federal, State, and local regulations. We have conducted a wide variety of vegetation and plant surveys for state, federally, and county designated sensitive plant species.
For decades, HWA has conducted wildlife baseline surveys, seasonal monitoring, and research activities associated with oil and gas projects throughout the West. HWA has produced hundreds of documents - compliance reports, permitting information, protection and reclamation plans, published research - as part of our work with the oil and gas industry.
HWA has worked hard since 2010 to develop reclamation plans that meet required standards, are cost effective, and improve the reclamation process. Extensive pre-disturbance field work is an integral part of developing a site specific reclamation plan. Vegetation transects to identify and record species present at the site, and a reference site.
