Situated on a three-acre waterfront site adjacent to the Mandeville Harbor and boat launch, Pontchartrain Yacht Club is located in Mandeville's historic lakeshore district. Pontchartrain Yacht Club, founded in 1967, is a family friendly sailing and social club. The grounds offer an unobstructed view of Lake Pontchartrain, and the launch area enables sailors to be sailing in open water in less than five minutes.
PYC is a member of both of the Gulf Yachting Association and the United States Sailing Association. Our beautiful front lawn has a children's playground set just outside the swimming pool. Nearby in the open yard children can be seen playing kickball on Sundays with parents and other members enjoying the views from the balcony above.

Services
Pontchartrain Yacht Club was founded in 1967 during a gathering of interested yachtsmen. The Club was also accepted as a member of the United States Sailing Association in that same year. Since 1968, Pontchartrain Yacht Club has been a member of the Gulf Yachting Association, which incorporates 33 yacht clubs from Houston, TX to St. Petersburg, FL.
Sailing is our Life here at Pontchartrain Yacht Club. Our competitive sailing teams race all over the Gulf Coast and around the US. The stretch of Bayou Castine from the public launch to Lake Pontchartrain is shallow on the east side of the bayou.
We believe that children who are involved in sailing, are successful in life. We offer unique opportunities for our juniors to start improving and building upon their sailing skills. The opportunities below are just a few of the ways we help our youth to excel. We understand, not every child is the same.
Although the club is dedicated to all aspects of yachting, Pontchartrain Yacht Club has a long tradition of competitive racing. The club is home to several nationally and regionally ranked sailors. The club's sailing instruction programs introduce sailors both young and old to the pleasures of sailing.

I have attended 2 private parties at this venue in the last month. Both times I found the staff to be friendly and the facility itself clean and nicely appointed. The pool and playground facilities are lovely. One of the biggest draws is the building itself which is nestled right off of a bayou and Lake Ponchatrain. It has the appeal of an old southern plantation with beautiful oak trees with Spanish moss surrounding it. It is elevated and has balconies around the expanse of the building which offer a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding woods. Very nice!!

A full service yacht club complete with dry storage yard, 5 ton hoist, Sailing Camp for kids in the summer as well as adult sailing lessons. Many social activities including a Veterans Day Regatta supporting wounded veterans. They are a member of the G.Y.A. with reciprocal privileges. They also have a full bar on site and host weekly dinners and the club is available for rentals for things such as bridal showers, business meeting and the such. Located at the foot of Jackson Street on beautiful Lake Ponchartrain at the Old Mandeville Yacht Harbor
