Dr. Laxmaiah Manchikanti, Medical Director of the Pain Management Center, talks about choosing an interventional pain physician on ASIPP-TV24. The Pain Management Center deals with many insurance companies, some of whom are only for specific patients and/or coverage levels. Typically, when you're doctor refers you to one of our pain management physicians; our staff verifies what your insurance coverage is, so there is no need to worry.

Injections are performed either to confirm a suspected diagnosis and/or reduce pain and inflammation for the patient with spinal problems or to provide relief by other mechanisms in other conditions. These injections are often performed under fluoroscopy (x-ray) in an operating room under sterile conditions, using mild sedation (relaxation medicine) to assure proper placement of needle.
Epidural injections are a reliable treatment for helping manage spinal pain. Depending on your pain's location, you could receive an injection in your cervical (neck) area, thoracic (upper to mid-back) area, lumbar (lowerback) area or caudal (tailbone) area.
These injections are helpful in relieving pain caused by problems with your discs, the parts of your spine that act like shock absorbers and separate your spinal bones, called vertebrae, from each other.Common causes of disc-related pain include disc herniation, or a bulging of the disc against a nerve, and what is called discogenic pain, pain that is caused by something wrong with the disc.

Nerve roots exit the spinal cord and form nerves that travel into the arms or legs. These nerves allow movement of the arms, chest wall, and legs. These nerve roots may become inflamed and painful due to irritation, for example, from a damaged disc or a bony spur. Transforaminal or selective nerve root block provides important information to physicians, also a primary treatment in many cases.

Dr. Yogesh B. Malla, MD
Very poor quality of care. doesn't look you in the eye when speaking to you, doesn't listen, dirty lab coat behaved very distracted, preoccupied and uninterested. I treat my pets better.
Whole practice feels like a revolving door of patients who are de-humanized and treated as if they are convicted drug addicts.
I am a 52 yr old disabled person with degenerative osteo arthritis and post surgery pain. I felt so disrespected and devalued as a person. My pain is real and is not going to improve over time.
I do not accept this lack of professionalism and
