Gene Cox Grocery & Meats began in 1962 in a small building across the street from Northeast Louisiana State College (now ULM) in Monroe, Louisiana. Mr. Eugene Cox successfully ran a family-oriented grocery business for nearly five decades in a field dominated by supermarkets and other large companies.

Success and the ability to compete comes in this business due to old fashioned, superior customer service, and a passion for what you do - things the big boys simply cannot offer their customers. We are now located on Arkansas Road in West Monroe, Louisiana.
