Services
Located in Cape Hatteras on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Conner's Supermarket carries everything you need - from the everyday to gourmet. Open 8am - 9pm, 7 days a week, this local grocery store has served the residents and visitors of Hatteras Island since 1959. Owned and operated by the Conner Family, Conner's Supermarket is now in it's 3 rd generation of management.
He spent his time away from the store on the beach in his Willys Jeep. He often shared his love of the island with visitors by loading them up in the Willys Wagon & taking them to the beach to fish, or on rides to see Cape Point. The Willys Jeep Wagon was first made by Willys-Overland in 1946.
Arguably, the first 'sport utility vehicle' int he world to gain mass appeal, the Willys Station Wagon lineup had much to offer, with four wheel drive, easy maintenance, ample space for its passengers, and safety beyond what other "woodies" (wood-bodied station wagons) offered at the time. This is not Mr. Conner's original Willys, but John Conner, Jr. takes great pride in owning a jeep similar to his fathers.

Conner's Supermarket is an amazing grocery store serving well the small town where it is located, as well as the Island travelers, fisherman, and vacationers.
It had a great mix of items from the high end, a huge variety of samplings for your Charcuterie board, souvenirs, local brands, plus the daily needs.
I think what might be the most special about it is the employees—welcoming, friendly, helpful, and efficient.
Stop in, you won't be sorry!

You don't find grocery stores like this very often on the mainland anymore. Great spot with an awesome selection, both of produce and packaged foods. I didn't expect to see such variety in such a secluded spot as Buxton. I found stuff here that I have a hard time finding 200 miles inland in Virginia and this will be my preferred grocery-shopping spot for future vacations. Thank you for providing such a valuable service to the island.

This place is TOP NOTCH!!! Seriously, to be on the obx and have more in stock than the Food Lion and more options is A++++ I was shocked to see super unique brands there as well. I love this place and always love to do my grocery shopping here during our summer vacation. Highly recommend if you are staying in the area. Also, nice to not have to drive all the way to Food Lion from Frisco.

Went to Conner's while vacationing in Avon. This is literally the most friendly supermarket my wife and I have ever been to in our 38 years of marriage. The staff were super friendly and helpful. A very family oriented feeling. When we needed an item one gentleman could tell and asked if we were looking for something. We told him and he led us to it. Later saw us and asked if we had found what we needed. Later were looking for a single mason jar. Lady took us to where those were at. All they had were dozen jar cases. Did not get. Later the same lady saw us and asked if we had found the mason jar

During our stay in Buxton, NC, we shopped here 3 times because it was only 2-minutes walking distance. They seem to always be busy.
You can find fresh groceries, meat, seafood, and all kinds of food items. It's a typical supermarket because you can find anything you need, but I remember the kindness of all the employees we encountered. Even when my wife visited alone, she mentioned how nice everyone was.

Probably the coolest little super market ive ever been too. We are locals, and truth be told, we choose shopping here over food lion. They have everything you could imagine or need, which is wild considering how small town they are. Every single employee is as nice as could be, and i just love comming in here. Probably come in at least every other day.

Top Shelf service from the friendly peeps at Conner's ! Great spot to pick up all we needed. No need to go to Food Lion. We stopped here for a quick in and out if we needed anything... (Stopped in 4 or 5 times). We spent most of our $$ here as well as we cooked our dinners for ourselves in our rental all week. The isle where they have the Nick Nack gifts and such has Magnets, shot glasses , T shirts..ECT.. We had the best tasty Sausage , Chicken, Thick pork chops and Steak . YUMMY meats and loved the The Ice cream cookies They were out of this world! Lemon cookie with Lav Blueberry Ice cream

Nice store friendly staff. Almost everything you need for your island stay (a few items missing that I was looking for - spices & fruit). The prices are a bit higher than the mainland but not to bad. Very clean and the items they did have are name brand and often organic. The fruit & veggies were ok not the freshest.

DO NOT SLEEP ON CONNER'S
this place is super legit and has everything you could possibly want from a beach town grocery store. Believe me y'all, I've been to my share of these kinds of places and they're all basically the same. Decent service, friendly enough people, and prices triple what you're used to. Conner's is similar, but their selection is psychotic.
Yes you might be paying $14 for a 4-pack, but it is something local that you haven't heard of. Their beer and wine selection is out-of-this-world good. They have extremely top shelf stuff, and also

We have been going to Buxton and Conners for 50 years and have always gotten great service and fresh food there. Excellent service from the butcher, deli, and check out folks. It's amazing how fresh everything is and the amount of items they now carry. We believe in shopping local and with the addition of Angela and Becky and their husbands, the Conner legacy will continue. It warms my heart to see the old guy (John) and his bride of 47 years just enjoying life and family. By the way, you have to have a T bone or one their strip steaks next time you are there. Just like the sign said, From

If you need groceries and you're on "Hatter's" then Connors is your treasure trove. All the staples + wine & beer, organic stuff as well as a good selection of spices and Asian ingredients.
I went in looking for something deliberately difficult to find and was ecstatic to discover it was known and stocked.
Friendly people and a great choice.

This grocery store is a Hatteras Island staple and the choice if you want to support a locally owned store (instead of the Food Lion). My family has been vacationing here for over 40 years and it has yet to let us down.
It has your essentials plus great service at the deli and the meat is solid for any meals you decide to stay in for instead of going out. While the Red and White seems to have scaled back big time (unfortunately - another nice local grocery store), Connors is the way to go

Decent selection of basic foods that you need. The premade sandwiches were decent and superior to what you get at a typical supermarket.
On a related/unrelated note, I've noticed that many beach towns have people who are working on seasonal visas. Nothing bad or good but I overheard a manager of some type teaching two girls of possibly Eastern European origin the finer points of the southern accent. Kinda an interesting moment. Globalism knows no bounds.
