The Mission of our Local Union is to provide the Iron Working Industry with competent, productive manpower and to provide Ironworkers with the best possible pay, benefits and conditions. We work as a team with our signatory employers and seek to bring jobs in on time and under budget. We are a chartered Local of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers.

The International Union was founded in 1896 and has members in approximately 250 Local Unions throughout the United States and Canada. This Local Union has been serving Florida and Georgia since 1938. We want our members to have the latest information on what is happening at the Union Hall. Ironworkers Local Union 597's mission is to supply a well trained and well qualified workforce to our signatory employers. Offering a 4 year Apprenticeship program to highly train you in all facets of our industry. Journeyman have the ability to upgrade their skills and learn new ones. They, along with the Apprentices, are taught annually to sharpen their own skills and learn the new technologies of the Trade.

IRONWORKERS LOCAL 597 HAS NUMEROUS WAGE RATES AND THIS WILL HELP US TO PROVIDE YOU WITH THE CORRECT WAGES FOR YOUR UPCOMING PROJECT. Members of Ironworkers Local 597 receive a respectable fringe benefit package along with their membership to Local 597. On behalf of the member, our Contractors pay all fringe benefits at no additional cost to the Member. The following is ADDITION to the hourly wages that you will earn. 1st & 2nd Year Apprentices only pay $0.25/hour into the Pension, while 3rd & 4th Year Apprentices pay $0.50/hour into the Pension.
