The La Rita Performing Arts Theatre (806-244-6222) at 311 Denrock Avenue is a beautifully restored, 1930s period theatre offering community theater productions and other performing arts events. Built by W.L. (Wally) Hamilton as a movie theater, management of the La Rita was purchased by J.C. Parker.

This is a phenomenal, beautifully restored, old fashioned theatre. They have great musical acts as well as local productions. There is also the classic "melodrama" that takes place during the historic XIT Rodeo and Réunion weekend (1st full weekend in August). If you're even in Dalhart, TX, be sure to check this unbelievable landmark out!

Came to Dalhart for the XIT pro rodeo and was looking for something to do during the day. Was driving on Main Street and come across this cute theater. If they are having a play.... It's a must go! It's a great experience and the actors and actresses are awesome :) $10 and it's a 2 hour play. :) amazing :) I enjoyed it
