At the Vein Healthcare Center, we're helping patients, physicians and communities view venous disease and its symptoms in a new way. Many people who experience vein disorders have been disappointed with traditional methods of care, or have been discouraged from seeking treatment because of limited options. The Vein Healthcare Center serves communities in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Canada, and brings superior medical care to those at every stage of venous disease.
Dr. Cindy Asbjornsen, Dr. Sophia Adams, and the rest of the VHC team focus on providing a comfortable setting where they can evaluate your individual symptoms - from the first appearance of varicose veins to advanced-stage venous stasis ulcers - and explore the best avenue for your treatment. While varicose veins can hinder confidence and the ability to participate fully in life's activities, venous disease is never simply cosmetic.

Manny is a registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer (RDCS) and registered vascular technologist (RVT) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), the main accreditation organization for sonographers. Manny's role is to produce vein mappings that help the physician create a treatment plan and to provide ultrasound guidance for ablations and sclerotherapy.
Venous disease is defined as the impairment of blood flow towards your heart. Understanding venous disease means understanding the complex system of veins that make up our legs. Our legs are comprised of a network of veins that are similar to branches on a tree: they contain large, or major veins and increasingly smaller veins.
The treatment of venous disease today is vastly different from treatments performed in the past. Breakthroughs in minimally invasive treatment and the many effective out-patient procedures available are providing more people relief from their venous disease symptoms. These new approaches to treatment involve less time and less pain, and they are overwhelmingly successful over the long term when performed by an experienced phlebologist.
