Quail's Nest Quilt Company is a retail quilt shop and classroom! We are very excited to share our passion for textiles and hand-made goods! Quail's Nest started as a dream imagined by an avid quilter and has quickly come to life. You can expect fabric from manufacturers you know and trust, like: Windham, Andover, Northcott, Moda, etc.

We also carry notions, supplies and batting. We (usually) offer classes for all levels of quilters. We are located in the beautiful foothills of Tuolumne County, a scenic destination for many travelers, in Sonora, CA. Our name is inspired by our area, and our state bird, the California Quail. We hope to inspire, teach and share with all who come through our door.

Susan graduated from California State University Stanislaus in 1980 and taught for 33 years as an elementary school teacher. During her career in education she was a Mentor Teacher, Teacher of the Year and a distinguished teacher within her district. She brought her love of crafts and sewing to her classroom often teaching students how to hand sew.
This class teaches the fundamental skills needed to make a quilt top, from making the first clean-up cut to accurate scant 1/4 inch seams. Not only is it appropriate for beginning quilters, but also those who have been self-taught and want more precision. The class is for 2 1/2 hours, for 5 sessions.

Wife found a Sewing group to go to on Wednesday's, so she's very happy, and she found the material that she needed.

Well, my wife loves it and the staff were extremely helpful. Unfortunately the husband chairs in the front window room don't recline. That's my only complaint.
