The Shreveport Yacht Club is located on the south shore of beautiful Cross Lake in Shreveport, Louisiana. Cross Lake covers approximately 8,576 acres and has 70 plus miles of shoreline. The lake provides the water supply for the City of Shreveport. Bald cypress trees line the banks and the lake is popular for recreational boating, fishing and hunting.
Established in 1927 as the Shreveport Boat Club, the Club is proud to be part of the long and rich history of the city of Shreveport. Cross Lake was impounded in 1926 by the construction of a concrete dam on the right of way of the Kansas City Southern Railroad. The Club was established just one year after the impoundment of Cross Lake; became incorporated in 1937, and changed its name to the Shreveport Yacht Club in 1948.

Services
The Tell Tale is the monthly newsletter of the Shreveport Yacht Club and the best source for all the happenings around the club. The Club rents its members "wet" (covered and uncovered) and "dry" (uncovered) boat slips at reasonable rates. Please contact the office staff at 318-631-7414 for pricing and availability.
The rental fee is for the space provided. Any improvements within the space (decking, lifts, electric motors, boat cradles, etc.) are the property of the slip renter and are maintained by the slip renter. Upon termination of the rental agreement, the slip renter must either remove his/her property, transfer/sell his/her property, or donate it to the club.
SYC welcomes all members and their guests to the Clubhouse, where fine dining and a full service bar provides for the best table on Cross Lake. Executive Chef John Hedgepeth and Chef Pat Dillahunty offer fabulous weekly Chef's specials in addition to the anytime menu. The Clubhouse also hosts member events and private parties.
The annex parking area, on the right side under the trees as you enter the front gate is used for trailer storage. The cost to park a trailer in the annex is $10 per month. The pool is open to members and guests at all times. Lifeguards are on duty on weekends in the summer only. All other times, swim at your own risk.
Camp will run from 9am-4pm Monday-Friday. In each session students will learn basic fundamentals of dinghy sailing using the US Sailing "Start Sailing Right" program. We will be sailing on a variety of small sailboats and campers will be placed into a beginners or intermediate group according to age and/or experience.

Do not waste your time/money...Long time member, posting anonymously...I’ve housed my boat here and I constantly found things were missing, broken, or torn. The ‘board’ is a motionless conglomerate that allows a select few to make decisions that benefit themselves and their friends. There is an overwhelming amount of politics that goes on, so much so that it makes it hard to enjoy the place. Be involved in the politics or be treated like an outsider. It’s unfortunate that a place with such potential is being run into the ground. The property itself is a C+. Food is about the same. Would

If you expect southern hospitality then this is not your place. Upon entrance everyone was extremely rude. My husband is a disabled veteran and they denied us paying for a days entrance. I would not pay a single penny to take a step on their dock. Please reconsider this Yacht Club as a whole. They just lost a potential high paying customer and my family/friends as well. Low end
