Pete has been an avid scuba diver since the age of 12 but the obsession goes back even farther. Pete has a strong background in the sport of scuba diving and in the diving industry. Capt Pete found the perfect part-time job when he was going to college on Florida's east coast - working in a dive shop.
We carry dive gear from the major scuba equipment manufacturers and we have an onsite authorized service center for many dive companies. When it's time for your annual preventive maintenance check, be sure to bring your equipment to Capt. We carry the major lines of scuba equipment as well as accessories from almost everyone you have ever heard of!

Wetsuits, dive skins, t-shirts, hats, dive jewelry - you name it and you will find it at Capt.
Night classes are typically Monday through Thursday nights starting at 6:00 pm. for one week. The concluding weekend is used for checkout dives. This is a special class designed to meet the schedule of kids 10 years and older, and also others that have scheduling difficulties. We do not schedule these often.

Just completed my certification with Pete and crew over the weekend. I'm an over thinker and had some nervous moments, however my mind was put at ease right away and knew I was in good hands. Scuba is a lifelong dream for me and everyone here made sure I was having a lot of fun while learning how to safely dive. My fiancé and I had made the decision before our honeymoon in Belize, to become certified divers. It was important to us to become certified prior to our trip at a certified dIving center. Went up to the springs to watch my other half complete her check out dives. The people at the shop welcomed me upon entering and helped me get set up with dives and with equipment. Upon meeting Capt Pete and his team they made me comfortable and at ease. They stress the importance of safety and etiquette but not forgetting to have fun and a great time along the way.

My normal dive shop had both of their certified scuba repair technicians out on vacation and my secondary (attached to my BC) was malfunctioning after my last dive, which unfortunately became an emergency seeing as I was about to fly to Ecuador and then the Galapagos for a week of diving. Brought my entire get-up (Sorry Norman from 2 yrs ago... because this is how you diagnose a problem with your gear by having it ALL there to look at!) I found captain Pete's as a local retailer for seaview dive mask via the corporate website. I needed a very small but important piece for my most favorite dive mask. I emailed in and he responded right away willing to help. He was able to repair my mask for a very reasonable price and followed up. Good service is hard to find these days, thank you so much for being there for me and my diving needs.

Had an amazing time learning with the entire crew at Captain Pete's Dive shop. Everyone was very personable, knowledgeable and patient. Despite any nervousness on my part, I felt totally prepared for my test, and that was due to the education and the trust that Captain Pete establishes with his students. I love these people. I got scuba certified with these guys and have been diving with them ever since. They know their stuff, can give good opinions, and solid advice. The owner Pete really knows his stuff and though obviously this is his business, he is an honest guy who wants his customers to be happy and safe. If you're unhappy with something, just talk to him and he will make reasonable accommodations. I also go on trips with them to go diving even though I no longer live in the FM area. For safe diving, solid learning, and good times, this place is the best!

The best experience of my life! Captain Pete and Brian are absolutely the two best people to dive with. Classes were great and well informed. They both made you feel so comfortable two of the best people I've ever met. Weekend trip was a blast! I'd recommend getting certified with them. Hands down best experience!!!

I got Scuba Certified with Captain Pete back in 2008. It was an Incredible experience, they helped me a lot when I was nervous and made me feel comfortable. I will never forget the feeling of bliss underwater.
Life took me a different path and after only 6 dives I didn't go for years. I recently decided I NEED to get back into it, and although I live 45 minutes from Captain Petes Scuba, I chose his establishment to take my refresher course and start diving again!
All his Dive instructors are extremely helpful, and its always a blast!

When dealing with something new that could kill you if done wrong, it's nice to know you're taught by a staff that is knowledgeable, friendly, and highly experienced. It's also nice when the owner and person with the greatest experience is with you every step of the process. Captain Pete's Dive Shop and classes were everything my wife and I could have asked for. If you're looking for a place where you can get all your gear and get certified, this is your place. We have only been on one trip, but we plan on going on many more with this shop and staff.

Was planning to go diving out around sanibel and the guy working there recommended some spots that were horrible one foot visibility we didn't even use their tanks when we called they said it was 6 a tank it's 12. Oh and no refunds of any kind on anything. Basically ruined the vacation because we were planning to go elsewhere to dive but they recommended so strongly that we go to certain spots that there will be lots of life we saw nothing wasted gas and time and a lot of money 6 tanks down the drain for nothing basically.
