Diablo Ballet is an award-winning, internationally recognized, professional dance company committed to enriching, inspiring, and educating children and adults through the art of dance. It has always been an important objective of Diablo Ballet to have a Ballet School associated with the Company and now that dream has become a reality.
The Diablo Ballet School is the first in Contra Costa County's history to be run by a professional ballet company. The School begins teaching students from ages 3 through 6 where pre-ballet lays the foundation for further study of classical ballet. Beginning at age seven (or turning seven during the school year), students are placed in Level 1 and advance according to age, experience, and ability, with Level 5 being the advanced students.

Founded in 1993, Diablo Ballet is one of the most beloved San Francisco Bay Area dance companies, and is committed to enriching, inspiring, and educating children and adults through the art of dance. The dancers have performed throughout the United States, Europe, and South America. Diablo Ballet presents exciting dance performances featuring classical and contemporary works, educational and outreach programs, and productions on tour.
The Diablo premiere of Sean Kelly's Copplia's Wedding kicked off the festivities, a seven-movement ballet with classical charm to spare. Each chapter felt very much like a pronouncement of happiness and joy, like one might expect at a wedding celebration. Roque has choreographed some challenging dancing, and the Diablo dancers are up to the challenge.
Celebrate Diablo Ballet's 28th Anniversary with a one-night only performance at the Lesher Center for the Arts. Immediately following the performance, continue the celebration at our 28th Anniversary Gala and dinner with the dancers. The performance will be offered in person with a digital option as well.
Diablo Ballet will celebrate its 28th Season with a return to the stage this November to celebrate the holidays with Julia Adam's expanded version of her magical, The Nutcracker Suite which will include students from Diablo Ballet School. Next February brings a world premiere of Cinderella's Wedding by Julia Adam, the Diablo Ballet premiere of Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux by George Balanchine and a new work by company dancer Michael Wells.

We love love loved Thursday night's performance at Walnut Creek's Lesher Center, celebrating the 21st anniversary of the Diablo Ballet.
A former ballerina introduced the ballet's manager/creator, as well as a woman who read a note from Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla, and a couple other people responsible for making the ballet happen. It was a lot of introductions working up to asking for donations. This is a community-sponsored ballet so they really depend on the generosity of donors. The talented dancers are deserving of every dollar they bring in - their show is really breath-taking.

Great date night with husband and newborn; strolling through WC and grabbing small bites along the way is a fun event with a good cause for DB. This is our second year galloping, but our first getting tickets through yelp - thank you Nique!!
Our favorite places were:
-Massimo
-The Olde San Francisco Creamery
-We Olive
-Lottie's Creamery
Massimo portions were large and perfect to start the walk. Same goes for The Old San Francisco Creamery...a large scoop of any flavor you want. Sweet! @ We Olive, we ended up buying a bunch of stuff and not even tasting what they had to offer! We fell

I'm a very big fan of doing local restaurant tours. I've done the Martinez annual restaurant tour a few times, so when the Walnut Creek one was presented to me, of course I had to do it.
Massimo Ristorante: We checked in and walked inside where to the left was a station set up and the gentleman manning it was serving us penne pasta with a Bolognese sauce, Caesar salad, and garlic bread. Sadly everything tasted kind of cheap. We were expecting and hoping for a bit more.
54 Mint Rosticceria & Formaggi: The lack of taste from the first stop was quickly forgotten about when we walked

The Gourmet Gallop was a great way to experience a taste of Walnut Creek. I realized everything is close and within walking distance.
This event was like a scavenger hunt, my sister, and I had to map out the best way to reach all of the business without going backwards.
My favorite places were:
The Olde San Francisco Creamery:
Here we received a cup of ice cream any flavor
I choose Sherbet, and it was so delicious!
I love the outside express window
Lottie's Creamery:
Here I tried the orange and cherry cream soda with ice cream.
The mixture was very good, but I only got a sip :-

Now this was one nice little fun walking adventure I must say! A self-paced guided tour of Walnut Creek, in which it was created to raise funds and help students of the Diablo Ballet. I can't say I've ever been to an actual ballet performance, but after meeting the staff and supporters that put this event together; I wouldn't mind checking out one of their shows in the future. Just to show my support.
The great thing about this event was that it began at one of my favorite places, Massimo! We checked in, started out with a serving of Cesar salad, pasta, and garlic bread.

What a lovely evening in The Creek. How different it is there than i the streets I more customarily travel. So pale. So placid. Not in a bad way.
A passel of patriots plied the portals of perfection for a handful of hours last night, passing from place to place, pleasing our palate with the plenty poured ...
Stop.
Sorry.
It was a lot of fun. A dozen or so eateries and shops and a piano store to visit, each with a small sample of their fare or something they brought to get us in the door. The crowd wasn't huge, the beneficiary of the gate a lovely organization about which I'd
