Hearing by Design is a brand new hearing aid center with a combination of a native South Carolinian and a Northerner that decided to move to the sunny south! Both Kayla Bracey and Jennifer Reed have worked in the Myrtle Beach/North Myrtle Beach area for the past 8 years. Kayla began working for a local family owned hearing aid center many years ago and transitioned to a corporate setting after the business was sold in 2010.

Jennifer entered the picture at the same local family owned business, owned by her grandparents, about a year later. After her grandparents retired and sold the family business, she also made the transition with Kayla and all of their patients. Both Kayla and Jennifer learned a lot from their experiences at both of the practices that they previously worked for.
Services
Your Family From frustration at repeating things over and over to sadness at seeing you isolate yourself from the people and activities you love, your family suffers the consequences of your hearing loss also. Your Safety A car horn. An ambulance siren. The fire alarm. Hearing loss can cause you to miss important signals that alert you to danger - and put those you care about at risk.
As a hearing professional, I always find that I am noticing people wearing aids in public situations, such as at sporting events or the airport. Mostly, because it's my profession, but also because hearing aids of the past have been so big and noticeable, and I put great emphasis on the word PAST. With today's latest hearing aids, many new options are available that are invisible* to the eye when worn.
Having a hearing loss is not something that anyone gets excited about. However, with the right attitude and approach, it can actually be a very manageable condition to care for. In my years of caring for those with hearing loss, I have seen time and time again people make remarkable improvements by simply dedicating themselves to getting the most out of wearing a hearing aid.
Buying a hearing aid is an important decision on many levels as it is an investment in both money and time. However, the benefits one can gain from improved hearing will outweigh those investments on a daily basis. Therefore it is important to take the right approach in shopping for a hearing aid to ensure you or a loved one get the optimal solution for improving hearing capabilities.
With the rapid advancement in hearing technology it can be a bit tricky to keep up and understand what features are important to your hearing aid purchase. At Hearing By Design we want to help those conducting research on available hearing aid options and review various features.

To do so, the following sections contain explanations for all of the feature categories that may be important for getting the optimal hearing aid that meets your hearing loss and lifestyle needs.Bands and Channels - these features refer to the ability to adjust hearing aid settings to best fit individual hearing loss needs.

Run, don't walk to a REAL AUDIOLOGIST, not just salespeople. You can do so much better ANYWHERE else.

For a new business in the area, these ladies don't stand a chance after the rudeness and lies that I've put up with. I would suggest any other audiologist in the area. It doesn't matter who. I'm sure they give better treatment and service than the unprofessional "doctors" in charge at the 13th Ave location in NMB. Avoid like the plague.
