Sampson High School Alumni Association (SHSAA) was founded in 1973 by a group of Sampson High School Graduates. Establishing and maintaining continuous periodic fellowship and association among Sampson High School graduates and friends. Establishing and administering a scholarship fund for needy and worthy youth in Clinton and or Sampson County or descendants of Sampson High School Alumni Associated members.
The Sampson High School Alumni Association was started in 1973 by graduates of Sampson High School, a Negro school in Clinton, NC which graduated it's last class in 1969. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit association with the mission to create a scholarship fund for worthy youth in under-served communities and to support worthwhile community projects.
The Sampson High School Alumni Association, Inc. is guided by the Constitution and Bylaws of the organization. This document provides the structure for SHSAA's policies and procedures. Any association member can propose amendments to constitutional documents through their chapter's board representative.
The Sampson High School site located in Clinton, North Carolina. After schools were integrated in 1969, the school was relegated as excess. Since its inception, SHSAA has purchased the original school site and buildings. We are currently using the site as our Headquarters and as a location for training students with discipline problems.
The Sampson High School Alumni Housing, Inc. which is owned by the Sampson High School Alumni Association, Inc. was formed in 1992. The Phase I Committee of the Sampson High School Alumni Housing was formed to explore housing in one of the buildings on the Sampson High School Complex. The renovation was complete and eight classrooms had been transformed into eight apartments and named the Sampson High School Housing Complex.
