John Wait is a partner at Martin & Gifford, PLLC, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. John is also the mayor of Clemmons, North Carolina. He focuses his practice on trial and appellate litigation involving real estate matters. Since starting private practice, John has litigated cases in every North Carolina State Court, federal court, the North Carolina Industrial Commission, and even the United States Supreme Court.
Since entering private practice, I have handled a wide variety of cases involving things as simple as a traffic ticket and as complicated as an appeal before the North Carolina Supreme Court. This exposure to many different areas of law helps me to evaluate your case effectively to actually solve your legal issue.
If you have a legal dispute with another person or with a corporation, you may need to hire counsel in order to get it resolved. Some claims can be settled entirely outside of court, which can save you time and money in court costs. Other disputes require the court's assistance. Unfair methods of business competition (antitrust violations and unfair and deceptive trade practices).
Before you sign any contract, be sure you know the details. If you do not know the details or if you are unclear about what a term or condition may mean, you should immediately call a lawyer to have it reviewed. 1. Contract review and editing fees are relatively inexpensive, especially when compared to what could happen if you decide to breach a contract you have signed.
If you are unsatisfied with a result from a civil matter, you have 30 days to file a notice of appeal to one of North Carolina's appellate courts. In a criminal case you only have 14 days to file notice of appeal. If a party against you has filed a notice of appeal, you must begin preparing your response immediately.

John Wait was spectacular in handling my traffic case. My license was suspended & I was on the verge of having to wait 3 months just for a hearing with the possibility of having my license suspended for a year(forgot about paying a ticket a while back & the final date had passed to pay & got suspended, not anything serious like a DUI or DWI). Other lawyers wanted to charged anywhere from $600-1800. Some lawyers even said the process would be lengthy or they either didn't or said they couldn't handle my case. John explained everything over the phone of how the process would go & said it would be

John Wait is by far the best attorney I have ever had! My driving history is EXTENSIVE and I have had MANY attorneys over the years, but HANDS DOWN he is the best. I never set foot in the courtroom always a huge plus, he got it put off for me until I could pay his very reasonable fee and got my DWLR dismissed.. I had a fine to pay for my other offense which I overlooked, and TWO years later I call to see if I can get the file number . He answered the phone Hi Charlotte.. I was floored, this man cares enough about his clientele to store them by name!!!! WOW!!! Pulled everything up I requested. That

I received a traffic ticket which I have never received before in my 49 years. I decided to obtain an attorney. I did not know an attorney, so I simply flipped through the yellow pages. John had one of those faces that reads honesty and truth. I sent him a e-mail and he gave me a phone call. I liked the way he sounded. Down to earth and a family man. His fees were definitely reasonable, so I decided to give him a try. Boy am I glad I did. John got my case dismissed. I highly recommend John and will definitely use him again should the need arise. Thank you so very much John!

I was involved in a traffic matter, and the worst case scenario could have been disastrous to me. I contacted Wait Law through their website, and John Wait contacted me the next day. He explained the worst thing that could happen, and then told me it wouldn't. And it didn't. John got things reduced, dismissed, and worked his magic with the court system so my result was something I didn't even believe was possible.
I really appreciated his willingness to communicate via email, so my co-workers weren't an audience to my issues. I don't want to ever need a lawyer again, but if and when I do, it will

I was referred to Mr. Wait by a co-worker to deal with an employment law case that was very time sensitive. I called on a Tuesday morning and received a call back from Mr. Wait personally within two hours. I not only appreciated his expediency but also his willingness to listen to the situation before giving me a recommendation on how to handle it. I would absolutely refer anyone to Mr. Wait due to the professional excellence and also because he was actually invested enough to personally pull for me. I think it is hard to find a lawyer these days that actually cares about the outcome of his clients

I needed a lawyer because someone took out false charges on me and John Wait was able to advise me exactly what to do. I appreciate the time that John took explaining everything to me and his wisdom. I highly recommend John Wait to all of my family, friends and business associates. Thank you John Wait!

To say I've been hesitant to hire a lawyer for anything in the past would be a gross understatement. I've always been one to pay for things even when I couldn't really afford it (and even if I wasn't in the wrong) simply because working with lawyers always sounded like a headache.
When John Wait told me he'd "take care" of my (huge) traffic violation I absolutely thought there'd be more red tape than it was worth (I am NOT good with paper work, technicalities, or ANYTHING of that nature...) Not only did he take care of the violation, he did it in no time, with an awesome, nonchalant attitude,
