Services
Georgia law states that a parent is obligated to support his/her children. In considering whether child support is warranted, you need to simply look to one of the three most common situations that occur: divorce, separation, and children born out of wedlock. In these cases, the biological parents are required to support for their children.
Legitimation of a child is a legal process by which a biological father becomes the legitimate (legal) father of a minor child. Oftentimes, the minor child is born out of wedlock; however, there are cases in which the mother of the child was married to a man who was not crucial; therefore, a biological father who is not a legal father of a child should retain the services of an experienced family law attorney to assist in this legal process.
Divorce in Georgia can be either an uncontested divorce or a contested divorce. If the parties can resolve all the issues between them without the need for a judge or jury, the divorce is uncontested and, as a general rule, less costly than a contested divorce. On the other hand, many divorces are contested because of the various issues that cannot be easily resolved.
Adoptions involve terminating the parental rights of a biological parent. Oftentimes, because a biological parent has not participated in the life of a minor child, he/she consents to terminating their parental rights.

However, in the event that a biological parent does not choose to voluntarily terminate their rights, there are certain grounds in Georgia and Alabama in which the Courts will involuntarily terminate the rights of a biological parent.Understanding your legal rights as to adoption is important, and this is why you should consult with Abell Law Firm, LLC.
Child Custody in Georgia can arise in a number of different ways including divorce, a custody modification action (case), a child's election to live with one parent versus the other, and/or state involvement. In the event that you find yourself in a child custody action, you need to call Abell Law Firm, LLC.

Mr. Abell and his staff present themselves as caring professionals. Out of 8 the law offices I called and was promised a return call, his office was the only office that called back and did so promptly. I’d had lots of questions, and he answered every one. At the completion of my consultation, I was empowered to move forward confidently with my legal matter.

At the beginning of our interaction with Mr. Abell, he was very professional and on track with the issues at hand. We had a very difficult and lengthy case that involved what I can only imagine amounted to an enormous amount of work. As the primary caregiver or our children with a father out of state, visitation was challenging especially due to the unrealistic nature of the father. Close to the end we had an agreement that I was satisfied with and allowed me essential visitation time with their father as well as time to vacation with them and prepare them for school.
